The Rocklizards are a clan of twenty or so people who have taken up the northern range of the canyon to the East of the Citadel. There is a reliable source of saltwater that runs through a part of their ‘territory’ and they use evaporation and condensation to naturally purify the water for drinking. The purify massive amounts of water and collect and save what they don’t need to use in negotiation with the far more aggressive Rock Riders who can be found to the South.
The Rocklizards have strung countless rope pathways over and through their small territory, making it virtually impossible for the vehicles of the other clans to maneuver the landscape. Furthermore, many of the rope lines and bridges are traps themselves, designed to snap or give away when more than a certain amount of weight is put on them. There are also traps in the landscape itself — hidden holes, explosives, spike traps, and rocks or unstable earth that can be remotely detonated into landslides.
Outside of the Rock Riders, with whom the they cooperate with namely out of convenience, the Rocklizards have had no interaction with other clans or settlements. With their proximity, and with the bikes of the Rock Riders being able to maneuver many of the walking paths throughout the cliff faces, it was much easier for the Rocklizards to trade them water and other resources for minimal protection than to try to protect themselves from yet another external threat.
In terms of weaponry the Rocklizards use mainly their traps and daggers carved from bone. There are also a few archers who use old bows, handed down to them from parents and carefully taken care of, with arrows fastened from bone.
They make their homes in caves in the face of the canyon, either natural or manually carved out. These caves are connected by tunnel systems that they can retreat to in storms or in case of overwhelming attack. Like the external paths, many of these tunnels are extensively trapped.
The Rocklizards have been around for approximately twenty-five years. The original founders were a handful of Wretched who discovered they were O- blood types through various means, and chose to flee the citadel before they were discovered and captured to be used as blood bags. Of the twenty or so original founders only three are still alive (they were already older when this was discovered). Most of the residents of the Rocklizard territory are children of these original settlers -- making them O- blood-types as well. To their knowledge, the Immortan doesn’t know about this big secret, though the ones who helped them learn their blood type were never silenced.
The breakdown of the clan at “present time” would be (F/M for gender, * if they’re sick, H for hunter, and age):
Three people fifty years or older
Five people between thirty and fifty
Nine people between the age of eighteen and thirty
Delilah (F, 26) [8 mo. pregnant]
One child near ten, two children under the age of three
The hunters are men between the ages of eighteen and fifty who have trained in combat and archery; there are eleven hunters in the clan.
