Volruuka MK.II

Ga-Matoran laborer of Voya-Nui, wrongly sent to Karzahni and subjected to his repairs. Of late her mood swings have gotten worse and she has begun to push away many of her fellow villagers. She now lives in a small hut along the coast of the island, disturbed only by the occasional traveler and Rodakii when he ventures north to check on her.

Volruuka has been posted here once before, only I have elected to give her a different Hordika mask to fit with Gaatus and Rodakii. She now sports a Noble Mask of Rahi Control.

I’m going to officially dedicate this creation to L.A.Miranda over on Flickr, who took a particular liking to Volrukka and left a very heart-felt comment about her. I hope you love this version just as much!

Gaatus

An adventurous Ta-Matoran sent to Karzahni following a severe rock climbing injury. To this day he remains a wandering backpacker unwilling to learn a lesson from his tragic past. 

For many years he enjoyed scouting the coastal plains of the Southern Continent only to eventually settle on Voya Nui with the rest of his ‘fixed’ Matoran kin. For a time, his adventures were encouraged by Turaga Jovan and all was good. In the years after the Great Cataclysm, however, Gaatus was forced to scale the outlying coastal features of Voya Nui Bay in search of supplies for his village, with his friend Rodakii.

Rodakii and Volruuka

Two Matoran residents of Voya Nui, struggling to cobble together a life amidst the rugged coastal terrain. Following the arrival of the Piraka on the island, both Matoran were subjected to the Antidermic qualities of the Zamor Spheres.

Originally traveling to Karzahni’s realm on account of his arm being cleaved off, Rodakii was reconstructed with a robotic appendage.Wearing a Nynrah variant of a Mask of Rahi Control, this Le-Matoran has proven to be something of a begrudging and grizzly warrior, often going to great lengths to prove himself a capable and able-bodied figure. Wielding a pair of curved blades that can be fashioned into a rudimentary bow an arrow, Rodakii often participates in hunting expeditions, seeking to dispatch some of the more dangerous Rahi that stalk the wildlands of Voya Nui.

In contrast, Volruuka was one of many Matoran banished to Karzahni from Toa Lesovikk’s homeland. It was here that she underwent extensive reconstruction that left her hunched, thereafter sporting a Noble Mask of Rebounding and wielding a pair of Turbo Cleavers. Originally displaying a promising work ethic, she desires nothing more than to follow instructions and keep to herself. However, beneath her passive and appeasing exterior lie the clawmarks of a deeper nature. On occasion she has been known to snap at her fellow villagers with unprecedented fury and lose her composure. These outbursts are often accompanied by long periods of self-imposed isolation and cyclical thoughts of a spiraling nature. Often Rodakii will visit her in the hopes of easing her troubled conscience and offering reassurance.
