Spanning eight months after A New Hope and ending at the beginning of Return of the Jedi, this story is an au take on Han and Leia's budding romance. Loosely inspired by the TV show Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist.

Context: One of the items my rogue got in the beginning was a Wand of Web. We find a small spider in a tree. Acidic rain is falling from the sky. Me: I shoot my Wand of Web at it to catch it. Party: Why? Me: If we ran into mobs we can use it as bait. DM: Fine, explain how you’re catching it. Me: I make a small basket out of the web and carry it like a bag on a stick. DM: Roll...dex? Me: 18 DM: You catch the spider and it is now yours in a purse. Me: Its name is Rainman

When you have the kind of sesh when your cheering makes the table next to you go 'I don't know what just happened but I'm happy for you guys!'

Context: The acid rain we have to eliminate has created some sort of blobs which are attacking us. They keep coming together from drops of water that are flowing together. We know that the water comes from a polluted lake. I am a thief rogue with a burglar’s pack. DM: Ok, [rogue], it’s your turn, how do you attack? Me: Right, so the blobs are made from polluted water which is basically water and acid, right? I throw one oil flask on it. DM: Why? Me: I’M GLAD YOU ASKED. *clears throat* I use it as a surfactant! *starts reading*  The surface-active molecule must be partly hydrophilic (water-soluble) and partly lipophilic (soluble in lipids, or oils). As surfactants absorb they break these interactions, acting as dispersants. The intermolecular forces between surfactant and water molecule are much lower than between two water molecules and thus surface tension will decrease. The main purpose of the surfactants is to decrease the surface and interfacial tension and stabilize the interface.  As such, the acid separates from the water and the molecules can not reform, therefore melting the blobs. Cleric: HAH I’m loving this, chemistry ftw. DM: Fine but you have to roll for that. I roll 16. DM: Ok, the oil melts the blob’s face which kinda stumbles a bit on his legs and steps back from you. You did not have enough oil for it all.

Context: I have an affinity for frogs in general. My character just received a jump spell and I already had cunning action. I promptly spent half the game jumping about. Halfling: So I roll to cross the bridge and tie the rope to myself in order to create a secure path for everyone once I’m on the other side holding it.  *he succeeds in doing this* DM: Ok who’s crossing first; rogue? Rogue (me): I jump over the bridge. Halfling: Well my oh my we could have asked you to take the rope now innit?

Context: Earlier in the game we fought some skeletons and I looted one pelvis. I also caught one of the blobs we were fighting in the bard’s infinity bag, named it Jimmy the jelly and let it roam free in the final boss’ room (a mummy), unleashing its fury (after we had spent half an hour on me taming it). DM: Ok it’s your turn, what do you do? Me: With one hand I use the pliers from the thieve’s tools to knick one of the mummy’s toes and with the other I slap the pelvis on top of the blob’s head. Do I get a bonus action? DM: Sure, what do you do? Me: I use the Wand of Web as a fishing pole, tie the mummy’s toe to it and mount the blob on the pelvis, guiding it with the toe hung by the web like you do with donkeys and carrots. DM: Ok, suppose I let you do all this, WHAT ARE YOU ACHIEVING. Me: Clerk seems to have a handle on the mummy, might as well have some fun and get a mount in the process. I was not allowed to makeshift a mount.

Context: We are at our first crossroad, just started the campaign and trying to play it cautious. We passed the two goblins on the door and killed them with ease, and now we see three doors. Two regular ones and one that’s been barricaded. We’re trying to figure out what’s behind it (hostages or monster) and can’t really open or see through it. It’s my turn, a human rogue. Me: I grab one of the goblins outside and squeeze some blood out of it under the door.

DM: Why??

Me: If it’s hostages they’ll probably get terrified and scream and if it’s a mob it’ll get enraged. 

DM: Fine, explain to me how you’re going to squeeze the goblin.

Me: Well...we cracked his skull, right? I can just like...shake him upside down a bit.

Ranger: Or you can just grab a handful of brains and shove them under the door.

DM: Ok, roll me sleight of hand. (rolls 10)

DM: Right, you shake the goblin and push some blood under the door with your foot and now you’re covered in goblin blood, dragging it everywhere.

Me: (addressing the party) Guys, can we do a human pyramid so I can grab some moss off the ceiling and wipe myself off?

Sorcerer: You are NOT putting those feet on me.
