this is not in any way equivalent, but...i've been struggling to write a wlw sex scene of my own recently, for a variety of reasons some of them having to do with my own socialization and...i just wanted to say thanks for this positivity and reminder that we're doing this because we love love and want to see more love and more diverse love and make ourselves and others happy. it's really a big help to be reminded. best, best of luck!!

come back to it and read the entire thing out loud; realize that 100 things need to be changed

open it side-by-side with a blank document and start re-writing it line by fucking line

I am literally the MOST ignorant about all of this, but: was it not that Q's actor wanted to leave? i just assumed that was the impetus for every half-baked Shitty Straight White plot decision that came after. without Q you pretty much lose the heart of the show anyway - right?
haha no prob. so we really have no way of knowing for sure, but based on interviews/comments from both jason and the showrunners, they “approached him with the idea” at the end of season 3 and they came to a “mutual decision.” which is like... super PR-speech for “we told him we wanted to kill q off and he didn’t have much room to argue so we settled it without getting lawyers involved.”
i mean again, it’s all speculation, but he was (most likely, bc it’s standard) contracted for five seasons and he doesn’t have any major projects lined up so it seems... shaky... to believe he would have wanted to leave badly enough to go through the trouble of breaking a contract when he only had to stick around another year. in any case, we know they definitely came to this decision before even writing season 4, so they had ample time to make it like... make sense lol

your useless linguistic trivia for the night: the two-dotty thingy (in this case called a diaeresis, not an umlaut) always goes on the second vowel in a grouping of two vowels. it doesn’t indicate emphasis, but instead signals that two vowels that would normally be pronounced together as one sound should be pronounced separately!

GOD I feel this, and have been feeling it more lately. And I get really hung up in the warring impulses to Be Myself and pursue things that make me happy; and to be a genuinely kind person who other people want to spend time with. And I know that's really rooted in the insecurity of believing that I am not really worthwhile as a person and friend if I am not always and totally accommodating. That I'm an accessory to other people's lives, rather than a person myself.
yes!!! you have put it so so well my love. it’s just a really weird and uncomfy situation to be in - especially when your friends have come to expect outpourings of love and enthusiasm all the time and yet don’t feel the need to put that same effort in. i dunno! life’s a funny old thing isn’t it!

@roguewen Nah, that’s not weird :D Thank you so much! I recently rediscovered the hobby after taking almost no photos last year and I’m having so much fun with it again.
