I absolutely LOVE Wu being good with kids especially as a child at heart. In particular, I feel like Wu would really get along well with Ikki.

One silly headcanon that I have is that Wu dances with Ikki at the wedding after she tires out Huan.

Idk I just feel like Wu sees himself in Ikki, and sees how he was as a child. I headcanon Wu as having been quite hyperactive as a kid, but had to hide that part of himself because of his upbringing. He probably envies Ikki to some degree, that she has such a loving family that embraces her own rambunctiousness. I think that understanding means they'll get along great.

I think some Meelo and Wu interaction might be really funny too. Meelo is just like. built different. lol. Not many people can handle Meelo's Meelo-ness, but I think Wu would get along well with him. And I think he might enjoy spending time with little Rohan too!

Not sure about Jinora, actually. Jinora is a bit older and a lot more serious than her siblings, so the whole Wu-being-good-with-kids thing wouldn't help him there. I also think that she and Mako have a special kind of bond---the put-upon older siblings who like to read? In canon Mako says he read some of Jinora's books, which I've used to headcanon that they actually talk a decent amount and discuss books and stuff. So I actually think Jinora would be kinda skeptical of Wu and be kind of like "I don't know if this guy is good enough for Mako"

I think Wu is good with babies too. Another headcanon I have is that Bolin and Opal have a huge family and Wu just loves it and he's always excited to spend time with his nieces and nephews

Jinora

Jinora, the first-born child of Tenzin and Pema. She is a young woman of sharp wit and intellect. When she was very young she presented with supernatural abilities that frightened Tenzin, and piqued Pema's interest, that caused her parents to send her "home" to the South Pole for care and study until she outgrew her "episodes". Jinora grew up under the tutelage of Grand Master Katara, and spent years digging up information about her grandfather's supposed long lost culture while also becoming a pillar of the community for the whole Southern Tribe. Her serious nature is fully inherited from her father.

Ikki

The second-born of Tenzin and Pema. Ikki is a true free spirit. When given the opportunity, she spends the majority of her time with animals who seem to understand her better than her human counterparts. She is essentially a horse girl who has been kicked in the face more times than she can count, and still loves them. She and Pema bond over the manual labor required to be self-sufficient. Her joyful spirit is everything Pema wanted for herself when she was younger.

Meelo

The third born. Meelo, against his highest wishes of the universe, grows up to be a girl dad. He has four daughters before he even knows what hit him, and it makes him grow rapidly as a person. He becomes the type who will lay down his coat so his daughter doesn't need to get her shoes muddy. Tenzin thinks all the "alpha lemur" teachings fell on deaf ears and that Meelo's personality comes from his uncle, Sokka.

Rohan

Fourth-born. Always the odd man out. Actual deaf ears. An incident with an ancient anarchy cult left him deaf as a child which caused the divide between him and his peers to become an impassible chasm of difference. The earpiece he uses is the first of its kind, a Varrick invention. Rohan always found more comfort in the presence of his father's strange, stoic knight than he did from his own mother or father, not that he doesn't love his parents, he does, but there is something about the knight that simply clicks with him better than anyone else. Rohan appears to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, something neither of his parents want to admit came from them, but absolutely did.

i know that it would probably be unnecessary to continue to talk about in the midst of all the battling but they passed over the equalists imprisoning pema, a woman that just gave birth like an hour ago (and that's being generous), and rohan, a newborn baby, way too fast

Lovetober day 6: Harvest

Jinora and Rohan make a mad dash to get to the early morning harvest celebrations.

jinora spends a lot of time with kya and mako. she loves their stories, which are vastly different but equally intriguing. when she’s able, zuko is another person she could spend hours talking with. she’ll also take trips to the spirit world and speak with iroh, whose helped guide her when neither she nor tenzin could.

ikki idolizes asami. after zaheer’s attack, she loses the weightless innocence of her youth, and asami was there to comfort her. she’s still talkative and exuberant, and asami has an infinite reservoir of patience. ikki ends up with an internship at future industries when she’s 16, and decides to work as an architectural designer for the company. she’ll also banter with bolin, and their conversations are difficult to follow, as the subject changes every minute.

meelo’s is, by far, bumi. the two get on like no one’s business. meelo was the largest help in bumi’s transition into airbending, as a brash young kid took away much of bumi’s self-imposed pressure. bumi taught him nonbender tricks and even adapted some to fit with airbending. bumi’s sad that he never got to meet sokka, as the two would have also melded well. meelo also went through a police officer phase which lasted four years, where he was dead set on following in lin’s footsteps and becoming chief.

rohan likes katara and lin, the two quieter souls. he’s the only waterbender and is doted on by his three elder siblings. he always loved music. as an infant, his fussiest times meant he refused to sleep unless he was rocked by lin, or atop his mat while she played her erhu. likely from an early memory of her saving his family and feeling safe with her, his extreme attachment to her was originally terrifying, as she’d never lost the fear of being a mournful parent. however, she found strength in his milestones. she visited the island with growing frequency as kya stayed there, and the two often gave pema reprieve while she wrangled ikki and meelo. he’s a sweet, sweet child and loved everyone, but he never clung to kya like he did lin. as he aged, he was also extremely close to katara, loving everything about her adventures and healing. rohan’s an intelligent, easy-going boy, earning the nickname gyatso when he was a toddler.

Headcanon time!

Some of us on the Korrasami Discord are pretty sure that Rohan is four years old in the comic books.

And my little cousin, when he was four, would walk up to people, hug their leg and say "up, please" which was code for "pick me up, please".

And I had a headcanon where Rohan does that to Korra because she's got "sucker" written all over her face.
