Wonder what Tikki has been doing lately? Growing his crops, of course! And look, the hard work has finally paid off! Sure it might be miniscule... but at least it's something, right? 🥕✨ (Oiko please, keep it together. And Roito... Just be quiet if you've got nothing nice to say.)
It's been a while since I drew these guys and I missed them dearly! 😭 It was fun to draw something simple and silly haha 😊
Also, is it just me or do you also feel like Tikki here whenever you've got something new to post? 😂
Tikki isn't a big fan of water, but somehow Roito managed to convince him to go swimming together. He might have had some ulterior motives tho... 💙
Close-ups, lore dump and my thoughts under the cut~
Roito is usually not quick to fall in love because of his abandonment issues. He fights actively against his feelings towards Tikki, because he's the blinding light that attracts him like a moth, and he's afraid to get burned. When he finally falls for him he really wants to treasure his beloved. Acts matter more than words to Roito (tho a few well articulated sentences are appreciated) so that's what he will do; Let his affection speak for itself and hope it heals all his partner's unseen wounds, even just a little bit.
Tikki is not that familiar with romance, having never even considered it an option for him and his presumably short lifespan, but Roito piques his interest in a way he just can't ignore. The guy is known for acting stone cold, yet Tikki has never felt the kind of warmth with anyone or anything else before, not even Heartfire itself compares. It's so strange and scary, but there's this newfound desire to just surrender and embrace his warmth, unapologetically.
Phew, took a while to get this long drawing done! 😅 But working on something this sweet and sensual was very motivating, I felt like a screaming and kicking fangirl of my own characters, hehee 🤭💕 The funniest part is that this started out as just a silly way to showcase their teeny tiny tails lol
Roito was born without his right leg below the knee and he's used to people being baffled by it, but he takes no shit 😌
This started out as a study for his self-made prosthesis but then I thought I might as well have some fun with it!
There's no modern solutions in this fantasy world I've created so it was tough to make the leg look crude and worn down on purpose. Planned dysfunctionality is hard, man 🥲
And yes, Roito speaks with squares and rectangles, not bubbles 😆
Tikki rarely takes off his hat because it gives him comfort and has sentimental value like a lucky charm, so letting someone else touch it and even lower it is very intimate and vulnerable to him. It shows how much trust he has for Roito 🥺
I just wanted to make something sweet for Valentine's day 💖 Roito's ears kept bugging me because of their shape and this dang angle I chose but maybe I'll figure them out as I keep drawing him 😅
He is a hard to read type of guy, not saying or emoting much, but when he does, he comes off as stoic and monotone. It often leads to misunderstandings, despite Roito always trying to be as clear and precise as possible to avoid such things. That and valuing his own space has earned him the official title of 'the boy beyond his years', but deep down there's a caring young man who just wants to keep his loved ones safe from harm.
About time I designed some humanoid characters in Tikki's life! 😊 I'm planning a romance between him and Roito, tho their relationship is going to have a rocky start and a mutual culture shock. Their ideals clash starkly, leading to annoyance and frustration, but in time they will learn to understand each other and realize how different yet similar they truly are.
I was also, once again, tinkering with Tikki's outfit 🙈 Trying to decide do I like the asymmetrical strings coming from his belt or not. At least I'm happy with his overall look now!
Collage of Roito to accompany the one I did for Tikki 💙
As a medic Roito is very capable and resourceful. He knows how to make potions for almost any kind of ailment and is always ready to patch his patients up. Due to Roito's stoic and monotone way of speaking, plus his hard to read expressions, he might not appear as the most gentlest or reassuring type of medics, but he does his job with care and that's enough for him at least.
Despite preferring being alone, Roito has a heart of gold (or perhaps silver 🤭 ) that always welcomes boardogs, the loyal herders and guards of their village. They are very protective by their nature, just like him, and when he's around them he doesn't feel the pressure to socialize 'the right way'. Just lots of pats and kisses! 🐾
Fun fact; Roito has dimples when he smiles ✨
Being a medic is hard work though, so it's not uncommon to see Roito falling asleep the moment he finally stays still and relaxes. This time he seems to have dozed off right when he was about to enjoy a well earned beverage. Let's hope he wakes up before that cup slips from his grasp! 👀💦
Roito caught Tikki in the act of over exhausting himself, again, and reprimands him for it while cleaning the aftermath. He doesn't approve the way Tikki always tries to help everybody else, except himself. Quietly suffering out of others' sight might be easy, but Roito sees it and refuses to look away!
Tikki on the other hand doesn't expect him, or anyone, to really understand. This is something he must do. If he doesn't give it everything he's got, he would be deemed useless. Insignificant. All the things he has ever feared. He can't let that happen.
In the end, this crown and its burden is for Tikki to carry alone... Right?
Just a glimpse of the gloomy side of them and their relationship. Tikki needs to learn about self-care so bad it hurts 😩
Not my best work tbh, I feel like I shouldn't have struggled with this as much as I did lol 🙈 But there are the highs and lows in art making too, so I guess now it was time for the latter 😅
Cherry blossoms 🌸🌸🌸 BAR RICCA / Tokyo Opened Apr. 2016 Interior Design : Roito by Ryohei Kanda RICCA bar is located at Kagurazaka, Tokyo, famous for it’s traditional Japanese atmosphere and the alleys. Ryohei Kanda of Roito designed the space as a celebration of the Japanese cultural event known as “Hanami”, or “cherry blossom viewing”. This unique event takes place for only a couples of week each year in early spring, as the cherry blossom flowers remain in full bloom for just a few days. “The real moment of Hanami is not so much looking at the flowers on the tree but watching with a tinge of sadness as they fall from the tree, flutter in the spring breeze on their short journey to the cold earth below. It’s a beautiful but melancholic reminder that all life must come to an end. The short period in full bloom and the beauty of the flowers are often likened to the fragility of human life. Because of this, it has been said since ancient times that cherry blossoms make people go crazy,” explains the designer. #ricca #kagurazaka #tokyo #awards#Roito #designedbyRoito #RoitobyRyoheiKanda #ryoheikanda #bar #restaurant #hotel #design #bardesign #restaurantdesign #shopdesign #retaildesign #sakura #hanami #花見 #cherry #bloom #fullbloom #inspiration #cherryblossom (Tokyo, Japan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMzavf2jswO/?igshid=1e75fznjwuarv
