Regarding Roled & Insolent: A timeline of events.
Hopefully, this will be the first and last post I ever have to make about this. I do not bear the staff of Roled ill will, and encourage you to use their site should you so desire. I am presenting the events as they occurred, and nothing else.
Today, at 4:08 PM EST, Insolent contacted us regarding a post that had been made by a staff member of Roled regarding the owner of Roled's role in events that occurred, by proxy, between said site owner and an individual that Insolent was connected to. Insolent was upset by both the post's contents and the fact that she was becoming involved in Cherp-related drama once again, which she had hoped to leave behind her. She explicitly did not want her then-relationship to this individual (in specific) to be public knowledge, and the fact that it was being spoken of casually now in mid-2021 like it was well known disturbed and upset her, and that combined with the pulling-back into Cherp drama by Roled staff caused her to reach out to us.
I contacted a staff member of Roled to discuss what could be done about the situation. Eventually, we came to an agreement that the post would be removed and that I would present this timeline of the original inciting events from approximately two years ago. It is as follows:
06/25/19, Approximately 5:45 AM EST - I wake up, handle unrelated moderator tasks, and encourage Insolent to use Sponsus, a site that is owned and operated by the same individual that owns and operates Roled.
06/25/19 - Further administrative chat conversation, to establish chronology.
06/25/19 - Prior conversation with Ceru slightly afterwards turned towards Sponsus. I mention Insolent, first in abstract, then name-droping.
After this, Ceru and I begin discussing a different individual whom Ceru mistakenly, but on good faith, believed Insolent was due to the email Insolent used to sign up. Ceru did not like this individual, hence their recognition and upset at their apparent signing up for Sponsus. I assured Ceru that the individual is not Insolent, and convinced Ceru to allow Insolent to remain on the platform rather than kicking her off. At the time, I was unaware of any connection between Insolent and the individual.
After this, Ceru and I end the conversation. At mentioning "getting ready for work", that would place this conversation between 5:45 AM and 8:30 AM EST.
Slightly less than a month later, on 07/24/2019, Insolent drafts and sends a letter to Sponsus staff at the time detailing the reasoning behind her desire to no longer use the site. If you are having difficulty reading, the full exchange's text can be found here. A copy of the letter was screenshotted and posted to the at-the-time administrative chat, hence the appearance of Insolent's name and old avatar as opposed to "Deleted User".
Two days later, on 07/26/19, I verify with Insolent that the Sponsus page is deleted. The deletion request was granted when Insolent went and asked.
After this, communication with Sponsus staff regarding Sponsus effectively ceases. As the Sponsus administrator and Roled administrator are the same, this constitutes the relevant interactions between Insolent and the Sponsus/Roled administrator. I maintained a cordial relationship with the Sponsus/Roled administrator thereafter, and we had several productive-but-unrelated conversations about web development thereafter. We do not discuss this incident further.
All in all, the sequence of events lasted slightly over a month, Insolent felt that her privacy was violated, and now she feels as if it is being doubly violated by the dredging up of old events. She would like to request that we bury the Roled/Cherp/Sponsus nonsense here, from everyone involved, and move on, and, to interject a slight amount of my own emotionality, I agree with her.
