Roleplay Definitions

I got an ask earlier about roleplay terms, I started replying but then it ended up longer that it should for an ask, so here you go.

*Please note terms may get added as time goes by*

Admin (or mod) - Leader of a roleplay who is in charge

Anon - An anonymous person who usually asks questions via ask

Anti ship - What romance or bromance you don’t like

AU - A roleplay set in an alternate universe and doesn’t go with a canon plot.

Bio - A biography of a character. What they have done with their life.

Canon - Something that has actually happened in the show or movie etc.

Chemistry - The bond between roleplayers (friend or romance), in character or out of character

Co admin - Co leader of the roleplay

Dash - Shorter phrase for the dashboard on Tumblr

End game - The pairing that will happen by the time the roleplay ends.

Fanon - Fan wank, what want to happen in a canon ship but hasn’t happened. Such as Rachel Berry and Quinn Fabray being in a relationship.

FC - Face claim of character they are playing

Feels - Someone giving you emotions over a character

Gif - A moving image roleplayers sometimes post with text.

Gif chat - Where players just reply with gifs and nothing else.

God modding - Where another player takes over a characters actions or sayings that are not their own. For example, you are Kurt and they are Blaine. As Blaine they will then mention in

Headcanon - What you think a character will do, it’s different to fanon because it’s only you or a few others with these ideas. Say for instance you think that Santana Lopez in the future is going to have two kids with Brittany called Michel and Sienna and she’ll work as a model.

IC - In character

Incest -A relationship or just sex betweenfamily members

Mary sue/Gary Stu - Used to describe a character that is more often than not perfect, can do no wrong and has no flaws.

Midgame - Ship that happens midway between startgame and endgame

Mpreg - Male pregnancy

Mun - Person behind the character

Muse - Ideas for a character

Tag or Tagging - Words you write under the main post so you can find that certain subject on your page later (texts character has done etc as “text”)

Trigger - Something such as self harm or bullying to set someone off into maybe an anxiety attack or maybe something like self harm.

Trigger warning - A warning you give to someone who might get triggered incase it contains something like bullying, self harm, death etc

Para - Paragraph

OC - Original character (so they play like a Karen Gillan face claim)

One liner - One line of text in a reply to someone else.

OOC - Out of character

OOC drama - Issues that happen in a roleplay that causes drama and tension between players out of character.

OTP - One true pairing (so you want say The Doctor and Rose from Doctor Who to forever to be together)

NPC - Non playable character

NSFW - Not safe for work, this usually refers to porn

RFP - Removed for privacy

Self para - A para you write in character, but is only for the character you play to know. An example is your character going for a walk in the park and they are doing some thinking.

Ship - What romance or bromance you like

Smut - Sex talk or actual sex going on with characters via a para or as normal conversation.

Starter - A post to start a conversation with others

Start game - A ship that starts at the beginning of the roleplay

Thread or threading - Something where you put the characters name location, date,  general summary of what has happened and any possible triggers there may be. After this information, put it under a read more.

Twincest - A relationship or just sex between twins

Crashers: Rabidly attack/bully people until they are forced to stop out of being annoyed

Trolls: Join in a roleplay as characters that are completely horrible and pretend to be serious to flood a board with illiteracy and annoy the op

Try-Hard Trolls: Claim to be crashers and will tell you that they are crashers. They come in the form of trolls that refuse to be acknowledged as trolls
