Mod Hoof with a Very Important Message.
As Co-GM and mediator in regards to the behind the scenes goings-on, I have a very important message that I need you to read thoroughly and without bias. It has been a while since this blog has seen updates, as RPs have been few and far between among guildies, and I have not been present to screenshot many of them. But regardless, this message needs to be read, and it’s very imperative that you listen with an open mind.
We need to tone down the drama several notches.
It has recently come to my attention that several members of our guild are uncomfortable with the amount of drama and angst that seems to be a recurring theme right now. Things are too dark, and it’s seriously impacting the mental well being of a couple of members. I will not name them out of respect for their privacy, but the dark environment our guild becomes sometimes is not healthy for such an extended duration.
Life is not a constant tragedy fest, nor should it be in World of Warcraft. With the amount of empathetic individuals we have in our guild, I’m surprised this was not addressed sooner.
It seems every time that we have a light hearted RP, it drags itself into something emotionally charged and intense. Let me remind you:
It is good and encouraged to have RPs that are simple slice of life situations. Not everything needs emotional drama.
I do not want anyone feeling bad about this. If you were part of the constant drama, you feeling guilty does not change the fact that it happened. I know that nothing was intentional, and nobody was intentionally harmed by this. I know.
But apologizing and moving on, and mentioning that you will keep this in mind for the future, means so much more than you continually apologizing and saying you didn’t mean to do it.
Nobody is at fault, and I understand that this was not intentional. But when members are coming to me saying they feel uncomfortable, it is my job, my duty to step in.
I repeat: You are not an awful person for enjoying drama. You are not a bad RPer for partaking in a lot of angst. But for now, we need to tone it down many notches.
Thank you for reading, and go ahead and get back to your regularly scheduled end-game content.
