Nightmare
The nightmare is a tall predator with thin limbs and enchanted claws that corrupt the flesh of their victims, temporarily preventing healing. It's fur is pitch black, safe for the blue and red markings around its nose.
Vita Captivitatis Magus. The nightmare is a nocturnal predator. It specializes in hunting monstrosities, particularly trolls, vampires, dryads, and other creatures with natural regenerative capabilities. Its claws carry two natural enchantments. The first allows them to undercut the physical toughness monsters possess as though they were made from silver. The second corrupts the flesh the claw passes through and disrupts its ability to heal. For a normal creature, such wounds are particularly lethal, as the blood flowing from them has difficulty coagulating and the organs torn by it have their functions impaired beyond even what the physical damage would cause. For creatures with magical or rapid natural healing the effects are even more noticeable, as the flesh blackens and the corrupted wounds fail to close. Sadly, like all biological enchantments the nightmare's claws cannot be used by another creature, however a sufficiently skilled witch may reproduce the enchantments within them (the Novice Hallowed Rune and Expert Corrupting Rune enchantments). Aside from their terrifying magical abilities, nightmares poses a keen sense of smell and the ability to see in absolute darkness, thanks to their infravision.
