i need to get my yearly law and order svu shipping thoughts out now that i’m exiting the barba era and entering the stone era on my svu rewatch…

i know bensler is endgame for svu bc the writers blew up cathy in a car bomb to get that woman out of the way so those two cops could finally fuck, but also…

idk why people act like barba and olivia as a possible couple came out of nowhere when he came back to defend the man who blew up cathy in that car bomb.

rafa was in love with olivia. when brooke shields kidnapped noah… god, it was so obvious in the way he was talking to liv and touching her hair… and ofc that forehead kiss when he left the show.

it’s always been bensler… but god, i do love the fact that rafa just pines for liv.

and he did the right thing defending dylan mcdermott. that man is the best lawyer in the law and order universe, so if carisi could manage to get him convicted… he was never getting out.

and she’s still mad at him??? meanwhile stabler is the king of nypd police brutality and she lets it slide… which is why i love bensler. liv is like the face of good cops and police reform and she’s in love with a guy who can’t stop shooting people on the job.

at least we have rolisi. amanda and sonny are goals. best episode in YEARS was the bodega stick up. a truly good man on the worst day of his life. and now we can’t even get a crumb when she’s back in the main cast. like, damn. give us something.

granted, i also want more liv, amanda, and renee bc they are like the holy trinity of good lady cops…

i’m just saying… bring back barba so we can have them make up. tragically kill him off, even. do something crazy.

funniest choice: rafa ends up in a car bomb set up by dylan mcdermott from jail or wherever he is. i haven’t kept up with organized crime so i have no clue what happened to him after the barba episode, so this scenario might not work out in the entire canon of the law and order universe, but… if it did work out. god, it would be so good.

like… if he said “liv… i know you’ll never forgive me, but i love you. don’t say anything, i just had to let you know…” and then you know she’d just stare at him with that olivia benson ‘i can’t let myself have anything for myself’ stare and say nothing while he walks to his car… and BOOM.

the drama. the angst. in the next episode noah brings up “uncle rafa” and liv has to deal with that little shit’s terrible timing per usual…

and he’d have to stay dead bc i feel like they already fake killed alex cabot, so we can’t do that again.

anyways… god, i love law and order, but i hate when rafa kills that baby and leaves the show bc you can’t kill babies and be a prosecutor. that forehead kiss… ugh, let me live in a world where stabler stayed in italy and rafa and liv have something. i guess that’s probably what ao3 is for… if there’s good barba x bensler shit over there… let a lady know what’s up.

How are they removing Kelli to make the show more 'current' what does that even mean are they planning to bring a tiktok influencer to replace her or Taylor swift?? The math ain't mathing. How can mariska the star of the show for 20+ years and the reason for its success still not have her opinion count or matter, how are they removing all the female actors that didn't want to leave and replacing them with BLAND characters. Why are they ending rolivia. All I see is misogyny and politics and it's really sad considering what the show represents.

Just jumped head first into the l&o franchise and as a longtime tv connoisseur I will say they gave everyone Rollins & Carisi because typically they only tease 1 couple at a time and have a stable beloved couple. I.E. Friends Monica & Chandler vs Rachel & Ross. But obviously Angela seeing Olivia at the end and Richard eluding to her is supposed to keep dangling the carrot. I will say, obviously Elliot should go through a lot of therapy first anyway so it’s not surprising or disappointing that he hasn’t jumped into something with her yet.
