Full party commissions certainly do be taking a lot of time wowee. This took me 6 weeks to do, but I’m happy with the results! It taught me I need to standardize my portrait size for commissions so that they all match up when I send them to a group. 

If you’re interested in commissions, I’ll be reopening commissions within the next 3 weeks. But before that, keep an eye out for a fundraiser I’m going to be doing to donate to BLM organizations!

Prompt #3: The Gatekeeper

It wasn’t a beautifully crafted structure, nothing to write home about. Many had made passing comments that went against her perception. Maybe they were being nice and simply overlooked the cracks and imperfections that littered the outside. Perhaps it’s because she had viewed it from the inside out that she formed such a jaded view.

Few had made it past the patched up exterior, peeked behind the boarded up doors. Often times those select few would realise a glow that surrounded them while they remained there. That illumination was often not wanted or directly acknowledged but internally the presence seemed to only benefit the one who received it.

Each found a room that would open as if they, in turn, were the key. Did they realise how impressive it was that they could.. That many never took the time to wander the halls to find the secrets hid within.. She would often stand beside them as they searched. Sometimes leading them, other times she would distract them from finding something more.

She was the protector, the guide, the messenger. She knew the walls and paths. But the doors they searched for and the secrets they found often were parts she, herself, learned from. There was one door, the entrance that few had found and even less had tried to turn the key. It was the one place none could enter, at least not yet. Did she even know what hid behind that door.. What secrets and mysteries that could be locked within..

That entrance seemed different then all the rest that one could find. It was sturdy and built to withstand someone’s attempt of using force to enter it. It had multiple locks as if it was purposely put in place to protect something a value. Keys seemed to be of abstract nature, not a single one seemed to be the means to open it all. Perhaps this was built for something of a higher power, or collaboration of keys? Yet none who walked the halls seemed to interact more than a courteous nod.

The thought of anyone seeking passage deeper within was something that filled her with excitement and fear. She was curious of who the door might open for, or what they might find behind it. Perhaps it was because of these thoughts she often lingered near it hoping someone might notice it. Other times her mind drifted to the questions regarding what they might do once it had opened.. Would they raid it for the treasure then slip back to where they had come from, becoming a passersby once again.. Would they be disappointed in what seemed to be so heavily guarded.. For now all she could do was wander with those who took a chance to slip behind those crumbling walls.

Welcome to Rolling Tides, a webcomic inspired by the format of Pinepaw and the Forgotten World by Razmerry and story inspired by Malevolent by Harlan Guthrie.

This story is divided into acts 1-3, and inside of those acts, divided into parts.

Uploads are inconsistent, as I am a full time university student and work part time. I will try to keep a backlog to upload one part a month. (No promises!)

As I create my backlog, I will post information about the world (reference sheets, clan history, maps, etc) for you to view and better understand the world!!

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR ✔ = PROVEN & VERIFIED FACTS

LOCATION

✔ = Both deaths have taken place on Palm Paradise Resorts.

TIME FRAME

✔ = The deaths were roughly 2.5 weeks apart from one another.

VICTIMS

✔ Perry Elliot, Male, 32 [A-list Actor, VIP]  ✔ Rin Harada, 19 [Youngest Scion of the Harada Family]  ✔ = PERRY ELLIOT WAS SEEN WITH KIRK HAMMER

Several witnesses have stated that Mister Elliot had been seen along the Resort's beach near sunset having a rather heated argument with his agent, Kirk Hammer who had seemingly disappeared after his client's death. Thanks to a camera that was attached to one of the Resort's patio dining facing the beach, the grainy footage corroborates witness statements.

✔ = HARADA RIN  WAS SEEN WITH MYSTERIOUS FIGURE

With her family owning the Resort, Rin knew all the spots that avoided any cameras or overall monitoring. An older couple sunset beach walking had come forward the following day after Rin had been found stating she'd been sitting on the docks with someone.

With their backs towards them and the brilliant colors of the sunset, as the storm began to roll in behind it, gender nor identification was made.

PRESS CONFERENCE NOTES

✔ = "While it has not been confirmed and we are waiting on the Coroner's findings Mister Elliot's death at this time seems to indicate a drug overdose. At this time, we are taking no questions and will update the public with any new findings, as appropriate, as time goes on."

Currently, no press conference has been released by SPD regarding Harada's death considering her death was less than twelve hours ago. However, one has been promised once her autopsy report has come back to confirm her manner of death.

RUMORS

Rumors from the tabloids from previous weeks had stated that The A-List actor Perry Elliot was lining up to fire his current agent, Kirk Hammer after falling off the bandwagon with several recent scandals. Nothing had been proven but it was only a mere two weeks after Elliot had escaped to Sundosa Island for a much-needed place to lay relatively low that Hammer showed up.

PERSON[S] OF INTEREST

KIRK HAMMER

With the last known sightings of Perry Elliot being seen with Hammer, the now missing Agent is on the Police's radar as findings of Elliot's autopsy are proving to be possibly suspicious.

UNKNOWN FIGURE

From the only eyewitnesses that come forward thus far, Rin was last seen with a figure sitting amongst the docks on the Resort. Thus far, nothing else is known but whomever this person is-- currently is the prime suspect in Rin's death. Just what else does this figure know about what happened to the young Scion?
