really upset about the appropriation of Romani culture on neopets right now. I want to laugh at myself because it's fuckin /neopets/ but tbh it's not a good enough excuse, that's racist as fuck y'all and perpetuates harmful stereotypes of Romani people all while using a huge 'fuck you' slur constantly on clothing items and in site wide plots and stories.
lets just perpetuate this harmful image of Roma as these mystical magical belly dancers with shiny bangles and scarves that live life as beautiful free spirits in their carts and campgrounds and know no worries and can make spells for you yeah that's great.
I’m thinking about getting the pre-tied long tichels because It’s faster and takes less coordination than tying a diklo at 6am. Ya know… for roma on the go. The long tichels look very similar to our diklos.
Can someone just make pre-tied, stretchy diklos already?? There are some crafty Roma women on here. ..make it happen. <3

So I'll be making marikli tomorrow and brining them with me to class because my English teach (who did say some pretty sterotypical things about Roma and is also I'm pretty sure assumes I'm Russian because all "Gypsies are from Eastern Europe" even though I say I'm Portuguese Roma on the daily)asked me to and I feel bad that my classmates can't experience the joy that is Romani food like I do
and a part of me really hopes they like it
and another part doesn't want them to like it because that means more for me.
