There’s not a lot left of the Roman wall that once surrounded the City. The biggest chunk stands opposite the Tower of London, outside Tower Hill tube station. If you follow it right through to the other side of the buildings, hidden in a hotel car park, then it gets even better. The other bit worth seeing runs alongside the Museum of London down to the Barbican, which still has part of its round bastion tower.
