To the Romani Nation – On April 8th, Roma Nation Day
Today, we raise our voices together—Roma and Sinti, brothers and sisters across the world—united by blood, culture, and an unbreakable spirit. On this day, we do not ask—we demand recognition, dignity, and justice.
We remember the dark chapters of our history. The Holocaust, or Porajmos, was an attempt to erase us—to silence our songs, burn our homes, and kill our people. Over 500,000 Roma and Sinti were murdered by the Nazi regime. Their names are etched into our hearts, and their memory fuels our fight. Never again means never again—for any of us.
We are a nation without borders, but not without a homeland. We have a right to land, to safety, to cultural preservation, and to be treated as equals in every society we live in. We are not invisible. We are not temporary. We are home wherever we stand.
To our governments, to Europe, to the world: recognize our rights, acknowledge our history, and respect our future.
To our people: stand proud. We survived. We resist. We rise.
Amaro drom si zuralo.
Our road is strong.
