Steve Harrington knows Vulcan. After spending so many Saturdays watching Star Trek with the party and hearing them speak it to each other he picked up some words. Enough to understand what’s being said for the most part. He loves listening to Eddie and Dustin speak it when they visit him at Family Video. Robin will even interject sometimes (it’s one of the many languages she speaks fluently). The first time Eddie says ‘I love you’ was actually in Vulcan. Steve didn’t notice at first until he picked up that Eddie was speaking the same phrase to only him. Not just that but he had a certain LOOK when he said it. Steve was pretty sure he knew what it meant but he tried not to hope too much. He decided to consult the resident Vulcan expert Lucas(don’t tell Dustin) who instantly blushed and told him it meant ‘I love you’. Steve then spent the rest of the afternoon practicing so that he could say the phrase back just right. He even snagged flowers and Eddies favorite candy on the way to his trailer. Eddie looked confused but pleased to see him which Steve took as a good sign. He started to speak but Steve shoved the flowers and candy in his arms and blurted out the phrase before he lost his nerve. Eddies big brown eyes got even bigger and in his shock promptly dropped the offerings in his arms. “What’d you say?” Steve laughed nervously and repeatedly it. Eddie shook his head. “ How’d you know..” “Lucas.” Eddie nodded and for several beats all he did was stare at Steve with an unreadable expression. Steve was starting to feel like maybe this was a bad idea when without warning Eddie fisted his shirt and crashed their lips together.
