How I Write: Writing w/ Rivers to Written by Rivers (Metaphysical) Become a conduit
Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Romans 4:20-21 NIV
Blessed and happy and to be envied is the person of whose sin the Lord will take no account nor reckon it against him.
Romans 4:8 AMPC
Teaching Summary Of Romans 4–5

God’s promise grounded in grace — not law, works, or human effort. Peace with God through Christ — a new relational reality for believers. resurrection faith
Romans 4:18-25 18 Against hope Abraham believed in hope with the result that he became the father of a crowd of nations according to the pronouncement, “so will your descendants be.” 19 Without being weak in faith, he considered his own body as dead (because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not vacillate in unbelief about the promise of God but was…

the sign as a seal
Romans 4:6-11 6 This is how even David himself speaks regarding the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness regardless of works: 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless works are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; 8 blessed is the one against whom the Lord will never count sin.” 9 Is this blessedness then for the circumcised or also for the uncircumcised? Because we say, “faith…

demythologizing Abraham
Romans 4:1-5 1 What then should we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, concluded regarding this matter? 2 Because if Abraham was declared righteous by the works of the law, he has something to brag about–but not in God’s presence. 3 Because what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his pay is…

ROMANS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 4
Tuesday, 3/17/26
SCRIPTURE:
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” ~ Romans 4:3
OBSERVATION:
What DOES Scripture say?
Abraham believed God -
...not that he was perfect...
...not that he obeyed the Law (What Law? It hadn't been handed down yet!)
...just that Abraham believed God...
...believed God's promise to make him the father of a great nation...
...and THAT is what was "...credited to him as righteousness..."
Now this is no excuse for my selfishness or willfulness - call it what it is - disobedience...
...but believing God's promise of grace through Jesus -
with confession and repentance -
even (especially?) repeated confession and repentance -
because I am still a sinner -
still disobedient -
acknowledging my incredible imperfection -
despite my desire to be otherwise -
...somehow, miraculously, counts me among the righteous...
not to be self-righteous -
but to be counted among God's deemed righteous -
for His glory -
because He grants and affirms my righteousness -
through Jesus -
which is the real miracle in my life...
APPLICATION:
Believe God
Verse 20: With respect to promise of God -
Do not waiver in unbelief...
Grow strong in faith...
Give glory to God...
PRAYER:
Righteous and merciful Father God - I believe You and Your Word, despite my selfishness and willful disobedience, and give thanks for Your mercy and grace offered through Jesus - May Your Holy Spirit continue to urge and correct me to a stronger faith and better witness to Your promise of salvation through faith - belief - in You - In Jesus's Name, and for Your glory above all else...
As always, yours always, in all ways - through and by His grace...
