퐁당퐁당 LOVE / Splash Splash LOVE

Splash Splash Love is a 2015 South Korean historica rom-com drama special starring Kim Seul Gi and Yoon Doo Joon. 

Synopsis:

Dan Bi is a senior high school student, who is supposed to take the college entrance exams, but runs away from it, since she feels to pressured. On this particular rainy day, she jumps into a puddle and unexpectedly finds herself in the Joseon Dynasty. There she meets the young King Lee Do and is mistakingly thought to be an eunuch, who can bring the desired rain and end the cruel drought. In order to stay alive, Dan Bi has to prove her usefulness to the king. 

My Opinion:

Originally I’m not a really big fan of historical dramas, but since I wanted to watch something short, I decided to give this special a try. Surprisingly, this was way better and more enjoyable than I originally had expected. Since I haven’t watched any other historical dramas, I can’t compare it, but this one was really good. It was a pretty light drama, with a lot of funny and heartwarming scenes. The story progressed really fast and in both episodes there were so many things happening, which is the reason why I didn’t get bored the whole time. I wouldn’t mind seeing some more episodes of this show, but on the other hand, I thought the length was perfect.

I was really happy to see Kim Seul Gi in a main role. I loved her in Kill Me, Heal Me and Oh My Ghostess and she was awesome in this show as well. She never fails to make me laugh. Her chemistry with Yoon Doo Joon was amazing and super sweet. Their relationship developed in a natural and convincing way and was hilarious to watch.

This show also made me fall in love with the concept of short dramas, since there were no dragging moments, it doesn't consume so much time and only the most entertaining and necessary parts were shown. So if you have any recommendations for me, please let me know ☺️
