For anyone curious in the subject I can settle it once and for all. I am mutuals with Rome Kanda (Takemura's voice actor) on Instagram because we both work in the industry and met because of it. Out of curiosity I asked him what his interpretation of Goro and V's relationship was and I'm proud to announce that Takemura himself said that he was in love with V by the time they kidnapped Honoko.

So I played Cyberpunk with almost zero guides, but with the intention of aligning myself to whatever ending allows me to side with Takemura because his character really grew on me more than anyone else. I helped him in all his missions and saved his life and Oda's. Towards the end of the game I pitied Johnny and heard from a fourm that his is the best story ending especially for beginners. I followed that hesitantly and got the Sun ending.

But when the credits roll and I finally saw Takemura, my heart beat so fast anticipating what he'd say and then he dropped that line-

-and my heart fucking broke.

I think I can endure a bad ending for my V more than hearing him say that. And the delivery of his lines was just so heartfelt.

So I decided on my next playthrough, I'm gonna side with Arasaka since even the supposedly best ending sucks anyway :(
