Just a thought...
Okay I’ve seen people talk about Aziraphale & Crowley in the Rome scene of (AD)41(CE) but no one so far (that I’ve seen) has mentioned what, in official Christian doctrine, happened after the Crucifixion.
If standing at Golgotha in 33 was the last time these two saw each other, The Harrowing of Hell has happened since they last met.
Jesus, in the spirit, descended into Hell, ministered to the “spirits” in prison there (I Peter 3. xx specifically mentions giving a second chance to the people who drowned in the Great Flood of Noah’s time) and freed some of them.
Spirits in Hell were given a second chance at Heaven.
Aziraphale: Still a demon then? [I was hoping you wouldn’t be. You don’t actually seem all that evil and you seem to care and maybe if human spirits were released from prison, fallen angels could have been too. But I can’t seem disappointed because Her Will Be Done and if it didn’t happen it wasn’t part of the Plan.]
Crowley: What kind of stupid question is that?! [Oh yes, THEY get Second Chances, of course they do, the favourite creation. It’s okay for them to Fall, it gets mitigated, they get offered Redemption and forgiveness and atonement for sins. Us? Unforgiveable, that’s what we are.]
