omg that list of prompts is gold. please do 25 or your favorite you haven't done yet?
hi Dani 🌹 i have had a lot of requests for 25 so i picked out 13 instead, i loved it for a ronance prompt!!
13. you frost cookies like you’re neither left or right handed but a third other hand that you don’t actually possess and i can’t stand it (affectionate)
Robin looked over and nearly dropped her spatula. “Nance, what are you doing?”
Nancy didn’t answer. She was concentrating too hard on the cookies in front of her, which didn’t look like iced cookies as much as what was left after of a tornado made of icing.
“Hmm?” she finally said, tongue poking out between her teeth.
“The cookies.” Robin gestured with her spatula. “Steve always tells me that I’m a mess, which is true, mostly, but whatever you’re doing there is a huge, huge, mess.”
Nancy didn’t respond, just tried to get more frosting on the sides of the cookie in front of her. Robin didn’t think it really needed more frosting.
Robin waited. Nancy still didn’t say anything, just let out a sad huff when the icing slid off the side and spilled all over the table. It would’ve done that anyway, Robin thought. Thanks to gravity and everything.
That was fine. Robin picked up her spatula again and turned back to her cookies.
They made it for maybe five minutes before Nancy threw down the spatula with a huff. “I’m trying,” she said, “but it’s not working. They’re a mess. I don’t know how to do this.”
“That’s ok,” Robin said, pretending that the disaster all over her kitchen table didn’t bother her at all. “You’ll figure it out. You don’t have to be good at everything.”
Nancy shook her head. Robin knew this wasn’t a fight she was going to win, so she did the next best thing and held out her arms for a hug. “Come here?”
Nancy rushed into her arms and hugged her, tight. Robin felt the frosting all over Nancy’s hands transfer to get all over her shirt and tried not to make a face. She quickly kissed the top of Nancy’s head instead.
“They’re so bad,” Nancy practically wailed into Robin’s chest. Robin tried hard not to laugh, she really did, she wanted to be a supportive girlfriend, but it was too much.
“Are you laughing at me?” Nancy demanded, pushing back from the hug to stare at Robin. Robin started off shaking her head but eventually turned it into a nod, because she didn’t lie to Nancy, not ever.
“Only a little,” she said, but that was enough for Nancy to let out another huff and then rub her frosting covered hands all over Robin’s face.
She really was bad at frosting cookies.
