NRCC levels 'The Medicare Lie' against Rob Barber - Again!
It’s been over a month since the NRCC leveled ‘The Medicare Lie’ against Arizona Rep. Ron Barber, so they figured it was time to brush it off and cut a new disingenuous ad. In it, they repeat the same bogus lie—debunked time and again by Politifact and others—that because Barber supports Obamacare he voted for massive cuts to Medicare. We covered this lie the last time they ran it; we’ll cover it again the next time they run it.
Quick reminder: while the idea that Barber wants to cut Medicare is nonsense, his opponent Martha McSally has taken money from Rep. Paul Ryan and supports his budget which aims to voucherize Medicare.
It’s pretty clear that if voters are looking to defend Medicare and affordable access to healthcare for all, they should support Barber over McSally and her dubious allies at the NRCC.
Looks Like These Democrats Don't Want To 'Own' ObamaCare
Despite claims from Washington Democrat leadership that Democrats will be "proud to own" ObamaCare in 2014, a troubling trend is continuing among Democrat candidates in competitive races.
Yesterday, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (D-IL), refused to give a "yes or no" answer when asked if she would have voted for ObamaCare:
In a telephone conference with reporters Wednesday, Bustos declined to answer Sauk Valley Media's question about whether she would have voted for Obamacare - yes or no.
Earlier this month, Sean Eldridge (D-NY) would not say if he would have voted for ObamaCare:
True to his otherwise circumspect approach, however, Eldridge declined to say whether he would have voted for the bill, knowing what he does now about its implementation, had he been a member of Congress in 2010.
"It's impossible to speculate on something when I wasn't there and wasn't in the room and didn't have an opportunity to vote on it," he said. "But what I would say now moving forward is that I would not vote more than 40 times, as my opponent has, to repeal the Affordable Care Act."
It is time for these Democrats to be honest with voters and give their position on ObamaCare.
Ron Barber - "I Will Vote For Obama" #AZ02
Ron Barber believes that President Obama's policies have benefited the middle class. With 23 million Americans out of work, 46 million Americans on food stamps, and the country $16 trillion in debt...have Ron Barber and the President helped you? #RonBarber #AZ02 #60PlusAssociation
VIDEO Ron Barber Demonizes Doctors As "over Paid." #AZ02
Watch Ron Barber blame doctors, or as he puts it "health care providers," for health care costs going up. The media ignored it. He lied when said Medicare isn't going to be slashed by $716 billion. It is. Doctors aren't going to be reimbursed at the current Medicare rates, which are already less than regular patients. Good luck finding a doctor to accept Medicare patients. They won't be able to afford it. Watch around 8:38 to see him lie about Medicare and say doctors and providers are overpaid. Call him out! Barber Uses Devastating Defense Cuts As"Weapon” in His Party’s Tax-Increasing Agenda
Washington Democrats Threaten Devastating Military Cuts Because They Refuse to #StopTheTaxHike on Families and Job Creators WASHINGTON --- Across-the-board cuts would severely threaten our national security but Ron Barber and his Democrat leaders have already voted to use them as a political pawn so they can get the job-destroying tax hikes they want (Roll Call #8, 8/1/2012). Barber and his party are doing everything to distract voters and increase their reelection chances, from denying that the cuts will happen to offering defense contractors incentives to break the law and not hand out pink slips days before the election. clerk.house.gov/evs/2012/roll545.xml "It’s troubling that Ron Barber and his party leaders would use the health of our national security as a ‘weapon’ just so they can continue their reckless spending addiction,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."Arizona families and small business owners do not want these devastating defense cuts and can’t afford more taxes just so Ron Barber can continue spending their tax dollars.” In the third presidential debate, President Obama attempted to distract from the Democrats’ job-destroying policies after the election: "’First of all, the sequester is not something that I proposed. It’s something that Congress has proposed. It will not happen. The budget that we’re talking about is not reducing our military spending, it’s maintaining it,’ [said Obama].” (“Remarks by the President and Governor Romney in the Third Presidential Debate,” The White House, 10/23/2012) www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/10/23/rem...ebate In truth, Democrat leaders see devastating defense cuts as a"weapon” in their efforts to increase taxes: "‘That may be the only way to bring some Republicans into a position of talking,’ Sen. Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, the assistant Democratic leader, said late last week. ‘We're not going to unload our weapons at this point.’” (Lisa Mascaro,"Congressional Democrats Dig In on Fiscal Cliff Scenario,” Los Angeles Times, 7/16/2012) www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-cong...story Indeed, the very idea of sequestration originated with Democrats: "The book ‘The Price of Politics,’ by Washington Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward, makes it clear the idea for the draconian spending cuts originated in the White House – and not in Congress.” (Austin Wright,"Bob Woodward Book Could Bolster Republican Attack on W.H.,” Politico, 9/7/2012) Washington Democrats tried to downplay sequester by requesting that defense contractors"hold off on layoff warnings.” (Jeanne Sahadi,"White House to Contractors: Hold Off on Layoff Warnings,” CNN, 9/28/2012) ow.ly/eJoPc #RonBarber #AZ02 #NRCC #MarthaMcSally

You Don’t Have to Settle for a Future Crippled by Ron Barber's Government Takeover of Healthcare #AZ02
Disappointed Arizona Families Cannot Carry the Increasing Costs of ObamaCare WASHINGTON --- After two debates, President Obama has yet to provide a vision for the future and continues to blame others for his policies that have buried small businesses with more regulations and taxes. With Ron Barber at his side, families and small business owners can expect his big-government takeover of healthcare to cost more money and take away more choices in the years to come (Roll Call #460, 7/11/2012). "If Obama and Barber's vision for the future looks anything like the past four years, Arizona families are in for more devastating costs thanks to ObamaCare,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."This November, Arizona families and job creators are ready to tell Washington Democrats that they simply cannot survive four more years of the Obama-Barber agenda.” After the second presidential debate, alarms sounded when Obama failed, yet again, to provide the American people with his plan for the next four years: "’I just want to say one thing we haven't brought up yet but it's incredibly important. The President did not lay out a second term agenda. ... it was absent. He didn't lay out a second term agenda any more than he did in the first debate. And that is where he is the weakest. And he didn't address it, I thought at all,’ [said Mark Halperin]." (MSNBC's "Morning Joe," 10/17/2012) Regardless of Democrats’ promise to decrease them, healthcare costs increased in 2012 as families anticipate what disastrous effects ObamaCare will have when it’s fully implemented in 2014.
