If you had to choose a favourite Horrible men Trash ship... Ronbi or Thirstalmu?

This is the hardest question anyone has ever asked me.

I think I'm gonna have to go with Ronbi? Just because it doesn't technically exist. Like, as far as I'm concerned Thirstalmu is just canon, they had a whole relationship arc including the third act misunderstanding and break up and everything. But Ronbi... Formbi is still only borderline Canon, the mystique! The mystery! The Gold Everything!

Also Ronan and Formbi are funny assholes whereas Zistalmu and Thurfian are just normal assholes.

“That was the official version of events,” Thrawn observed. “I suspect there was a far more, shall we say, colorful version lingering beneath.”

“Oh, yeah,” Eli said through a laugh. “Ronan’s been tryin’ to weasel his way into the Chaf family’s good graces for a while now, and ended up working for them as a clerk in the budget office. Formbi is the closest thing y’all have to Krennic, and if he thought Thrass had a special human fuck-buddy, then Formbi was gonna want one too. Wasn’t hard to suss out.”

“Indeed,” Thrawn said. “I thought perhaps my brother had told you of The Incident.”

Eli frowned. “Y’all really just refer to it as an incident, huh?”

“No,” Thrawn corrected darkly. “Not ‘an incident’: The Incident.”

Eli watched a moment as Thrawn stared off into the middle distance before discreetly glancing over his own shoulder. Whatever memories had taken over his husband seemed to pass, and Thrawn said, “Congratulations again on your victory, Captain.”

Summary: Formbi doesn't like humans. Ronan doesn't like Chiss. Neither of them will change their minds about that.

...Or so they thought.

Formbi (steps into dark bedroom. Sees Ronan curled up on the bed with a bottle of liquor): Brierly? What happened?

Ronan (sniffling): Director Krennic's perfect creation was blown up *sobs*

Formbi cradles Ronan but completely confused about what this creation is or who the hell Krennic is

Ronan (clinging to Formbi): This only happened because Tarkin stole it from Director Krennic!

[alizrak]

Formbi stares and grimances at Ronan.

Formbi: Are you trying to mock me?

Eli: I- I beg your pardon, your Excellency?

Formbi: His hair. It's yellow.

Eli: No, not at all. That's his natural hair. We humans have different shades of color for their hair. Black, brown, red, blonde...

Ronan: What is he saying??

Eli: He's-... he's asking about your hair.

Ronan: Oh. Well, tell him his hair is nice.

Formbi: What is he saying??

Eli: He... he compliments your hair, your Excellency.

Formbi: Ah. Well, I suppose his cape is acceptable too.

Ronan: What is he saying??

Eli: He... he compliments your cape.

Ronan: [gasp] A man of taste.

Formbi: Maybe humans are not a lost cause after all. You may teach him Sy-bisti. I wish to speak with this one some other time.

[Eli internally screaming]

*Ronan and Formbi are loudly arguing*

Thrass: should we step in?

Eli: no.

Thrass: I'm concerned Ronan may kill Chaf'orm'bintrano that would be very inconvenient for me.

Eli: yeah but if he does that then he's going away to prison and you don't have to deal with him. The other two out comes from the scenario are the Formbi kills him or we marry him off to Formbi.

Thrass: all of which result in us no longer having to deal with Ronan. My brother picked well with you

Eli just hoped he’d be able to find Ronan in time for their pick-up—

“Oh, yes!” a distant voice echoed. “YES! YOU”—smack—“ARE”—smack—“A”—smack—“GOD!””

Never mind, Eli thought. He shook his head to himself and pushed open the glass door. Either Ronan was close or the building had some pretty impressive acoustics.

Ronan certainly sounded close.
