Art by the late Ron Cobb depicting aliens with a distinctive “hammerhead” face and two mouths. The first is identified at roncobb.net as “Extraterrestrial circa 1680 - Galileo’s counterpart.” The second is concept art for the Cantina scene in Episode IV (1977) of a saloon denizen later identified as the Ithorian Momaw Nadon. Has anyone seen one of these guys lately?
(Caption edited -- we originally identified both of these as Star Wars concept art, which does not seem to be the case. There are clear similarities, but the first image may not have been created with Star Wars in mind.)

Farewell to Ron Cobb, designer behind some of the iconic vehicles and settings of our favorite movies. He designed the Nostromo, Marty McFly’s Delorean, Conan’s armor and weapons, the Nazis’ flying wing, and a few of the patrons in the Mos Eisley cantina. Here are some of his “Alien” designs and two from BTTF. . #roncobb #alien #backtothefuture #nostromo #delorean #sciencefiction #scifiart #riproncobb https://www.instagram.com/p/CFbJKVZFGDY/?igshid=19m2mip8uyjbq
