Memory. Tito Ronnie was the best seatmate ever while watching Ishmael Bernal’s “Pabling,” with so many side stories (hindi ako art director, propsman lang), and honesty (takot ako kay Ishma eh. kay Jorge rin), and insight (ang gusto ko kay Ishma, laging buo lahat ng setting, kung nasa kuwarto, kita mo yung buong kuwarto, ipapakita niya yung buong kuwarto), and laughter (may tshirt si Ishma na suot noon, white, nakasulat in blue: PAHIPO). But also memory. In one scene in Pabling a younger Ronnie appears on screen: “O, nandito pala ako!” Laughter ensues.
