It was @thesummerhousesg, an integrated multi-concept, multi-experience destination, in colonial houses setting, with Communal-style menu where ingredients are sourced locally, which brought me to Seletar area, which I have not visited. Call me suakoo / mountain turtle / 山龜 🐢!! Overall setting is rustic with lots of fake greens, trying to mimic charming little restaurant at Provence, but the service is far from it. 
Everything went well with about 6-7 tables seated, until when the “foreigner-looking” couple were seated at the table behind us. We couldn’t help but noticed the staffs’ eagerness to please that couple, which is lacking at all other tables, including ours. Huge point deduction there. ———————————— [Avocat Au Pecorino Et Jaune D’oeuf] Avocado served on bed of Truffle Pecorino, with nice gooey sous vide egg yolk and ikura, very delightful starter. [Soupe À L'oignon] This onion soup with Gruyere toast is a bit different where the soup is starchy, not the usual French clear beef consommé we are accustomed to. Not sure what the French would think of this, though the taste and flavour is good. [Poulet Fermier Rôti] The roasted French poulet (chicken) is still slightly pinkish when served. We were kind of freaked out, and had to double confirm it was sous vide. Unfortunately, as the bird was cooked in 70 degree, they are unable to roast the skin to give it the char and shine it deserves. The other peeve is the root vegetables - there are already carrot chunks in the roasted vegetables, why still give the whole carrot? Though it’s sweet and crunchy. [Burger Boeuf Wagyu] The sourdough buns in this Wagyu beef burger is crisp at the edges, yet maintain the soft and slight chewy texture. Beef patty is decent. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the homemade potato chips. It is perfectly fried yet maintain soft texture in the middle. Perfect!!
