6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?

yes! so many. i reread fics that i like over and over and over and over. if you take a look at my recs tag, ive probably read every single one of those several times over. but! here are some that ive probably given the most rereads, to the point where i dont always comment anymore bc i think im just spamming the author

OBVIOUSLY lee shore by @jumpingjacktrash makes this list. its the eridave fic of all time. ive read it more times than i can count and even when im on the outs with homestuck i always circle back to it

Crash Standing by @asukaskerian is probably my favorite homestuck fic of all time. point blank period. i reread it over and over and over again and i make all of my friends read it over and over again too. its davesprite/karkat and it the attention it places on platonic side relationships is a crucial part of my enjoyment esp the ds/kanaya dynamic which is so fucking iconic ill never ever get over it. it also just feels like such an honest portrayal of the messiness of being a teenager and i just. i love it a lot

dust devils on the horizon by @akumastrife is a jayroy fic i read so often its embarrassing. do not look at the comments and count how many are me. i dont want to think about it. after a while i just stopped commenting bc it was all me rereading and it was mortifying. its a cowboy au and the soft unbelievably tender moments in this fic are next level. the little ways they touch each other and roys achingly fond yearning kills me every time. when roy rides his horse close enough to jason to tip his chin back with the toe of his boot? it takes up so much space in my brain man. i think about it all the time

otherwise, there are a couple different poisonivory and shenanigans fics that i just read over and over again but this post is long enough

11. Do you have specific playlists for writing fics?

kind of and yes. i have a couple Vibes playlists and sometimes if the mood calls for it ill play one of those over and over again to set the mood right (like playing a sad playlist when im writing angst). i will also just loop One song over and over again while i write something. my lvl2 playlist is full of songs like that that i just collected by the end. while i was working on my current jdau wip earlier this week i was looping i think uhh mother nature by the hu? like. triangle, mother nature, and one or two others, i cant remember.

20. What’s a favorite title for a fic you’ve written?

ive answered this question a lot i think. hollow americana is still my favorite and the mystery of the old boathouse is up there. but of recent fics i think under the skin is kind of funny just bc of tommys fascination with 2fs scars and his background as a surgeon, and bc of the way they both drive each other nuts. i feel neutral at best about most of the other recent ones a lot of them were major copouts bc the jdau is just too long and im tired

9. What are your file name conventions

descriptive. i try to name files so that itll be really obvious to me what they are based off of the name alone, bc my eyesight is bad and i struggle to tell what the hell that drawing is otherwise. ie; the first four files in my fanart folder rn are "don hall," "the first rule of merc work," "jdau jason concept art," and "quick baby bat sketch." you can probably hazard a guess as to the subjects of most of these

ummm the dreamworks eyebrow i dunno! im not sure that i rely on motifs that much in my drawings?? you could probably tell me otherwise ig. as far as writing goes i know a big one for me rn is like. the idea of imperfect relationships. loving and hating someone and both of those things existing in tandem, sitting in the discomfort of it. that might as well be the central theme of the entirety of the jdau. imperfect relationships, imperfect people

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

whatever the fuck @redactedcrow is doing is so sexy and i couldnt draw like that if my life depended on it. i also REALLY like art styles where you can see the brushstrokes and theyre very liberal w their color usage and im eternally trying to learn how to mimic that, tho my style is so cartoony by comparison i dont know how to make it work. also. yours ;*

First I would like to say, I adore GS! It's just about the only reason I even open DeviantART these days, to occasionally check for updates. I'm very much a lurker, but I just think you should know it's a real treat you want to share this story. Thank you!

I was curious, since there are quite a few various kinds of deer in the world, how many of them are based on real species of deer? However loosely based applies in the context of course. Some are easier to recognize, but I'm a total sucker for these kinds of a details.

Marshlander (Nero & Runi) = marsh deer Fielder (Riptail) = roe deer Woodlander (Kasko) = whitetail Bush deer = pudú Riverlander = musk deer Lowlander = fallow deer Wanderer = moose

Those are the main ones that are based on real species. Stonekrovns have some elk influence, mostly the build.

bruce wayne, grew up to be a doctor like his father always wanted, chose to work in the morgue like his father never did. surrounds himself with death. batman unburied was incredibly sexy for this, im stealing it. he cares about victims, he cares about peoples grief, he cares about his community like no one else and when someone needs help and a mystery needs solving well,, most people who dont matter underestimate him. hes just brucie wayne! hes an eccentric rich guy living on the edge of gotham, he hosts charity galas from time to time, hes nice and a little strange, and who cares. but if you need help, hell sit with you in the study and listen quietly over a pot of tea, and somehow, he figures everything out. every time. he doesnt call himself a detective, hes just a doctor, and he cares about people

enter eddie. eddies a thief. he likes puzzles, he likes making people think. he does things for the challenge of them, to feel like he can, and to rub it in peoples faces that he got away with it. i think he gets into it because his boss steals his ideas and fires him when he asks for credit and its a revenge thing, ala btas bc btas <3. but it doesnt stop there, yknow. because then bruce is the puzzle

i want to write a fic where eddie is the toughest villain bruce has ever come up against. every other mystery, he figures out eventually. every other time, he gets his man. but eddie is the one who just keeps getting away. eddies not like anything hes ever dealt with before. he challenges bruce in a way absolutely no one else does and the way he does it is.... infuriating. sending him bouquets with hints in the flowers and a love note tucked into the leaves is goddamn infuriating and eddie just excels at driving bruce nuts. its all just vibes and feelings at this point but ill buff it out one day

harveys da and a close friend of bruces that bruce leans on for sneaky legal shit, selinas a catburglar that bruce catches and loses more than once, ivys a botanist and murderer with a hatred for the slimy men in her field, and everyone else really will just fall into place with time
