Who's that lady? No one knew. She was a found portrait in a vintage store and although her dress is clearly 40s or 50s she is decidedly stern. I can only imagine how uncomfortable she must have been sitting for her portrait. // When we shot this room we had the camera tight against the opposite wall. With a wide angle lens, we were barely able to get this shot. In fact, I think @_tnehottephoto_ pieced together several shots into one composite. That happens a lot on location when we try to create images that aren't warped by the wide angle lens. // One thing that drives me crazy about this shot is the symmetry. Two many duplicates create visual monotony. The lamps and oversized chairs are great but the rest I'd restyle to add interest. Some sense of normalcy is starting to happen. We are back on hold @bigleoproductions. Even if the project doesn't come through, I started to think about flying again. Oh @delta, I actually miss that airplane smell....a cross between humanity and a scented mixture of stale coffee and lavatory odor. I seriously cannot wait to get on a plane. // As with everything starting to ramp up again, I'm working through a portfolio update. I'm not done yet, but my amazing agent @wiliewilliefarradmullins asked me to review all past work for the best of the best. The best thing about good agents is that they help you see things in a new way. This is an architecturally designed new home on Lake Minnetonka. There are two projects I'm working on right now that remind me of this photo - one is @dohmicile with @jeffreycourtinc and the other is with @subzeroandwolf. The green Cole & Son wallcovering was an unexpected twist with the @showplacecabinetry wood finishes. Every space we design is unique to the client we design it for and that's what is so joyous about what we do. A kitchen window is such a happy place to be. Light shining in on a sunny day feels so fresh and clear. What a cozy spot this is and I really believe it’s because of the cabinetry. A bowed front cabinet for the sink is unusual and so custom @designed_and_made // We shot this for a magazine editorial and I love the #propping little green tomatoes on the window sill and fresh hydrangea on the counter. Stacks of my black and white boxes and bowls bound for shelves above. // I can smell the scented geranium in the pot to the right and I can see a pair of scissors poking out of a container above that. Those are a pair of scissors a friend gave me years ago. I think they were his mother’s. We have just finished staging three homes. The first sold in 20 days. The second received an offer in 27 days and now the third is just days on the market. Staging can also include remodeling, cleaning and repairing. With over 20 years of experience, we are available in the Twin Cities metro and surrounding five state area to help you sell or update your home. // This was an #editorial shot and we #staged the cabinetry with local artisan finds. @amyriceart is one such artist and @northernclaycenter is another. I remember this shot for the original boat painting, the shape of the pale blue vase and the reeded glass in the cabinetry. I loved every one of those elements and together they exemplify a #lakeside story. // The other element that I found with one of my favorite assistants - Nate - was the carved cork lidded container on the counter. What a fun day we had traipsing around the Hopkins antique stores and I remember right where this was when we found it. I’m obsessed with space. I love to puzzle things together in a visual, in a cabinet, in a layout, even in the back of my truck. Placement is everything for #visualbranding and I love to figure out the most functional and well designed placement of cabinets and countertops. // This is an extremely compact kitchen I designed for condo sized space. It was tiny, so the dining area had to be combined with the dining area with the kitchen. There wasn’t room for an island so I designed and built this “sliding” table. It can function against the outer wall as more counter space or pulled into the kitchen as a table top. // I built this entire sliding unit out of quartz material so it had to be cantilevered with industrial hardware. The cabinet manufacturer worked with me to create the sliding functionality. I squeezed in the extra drawer storage on the side of the island for flatware, linens and other kitchen implements.
