Decided to add some stuff to Roomland's mspfa article becuase, DAMN i really did get that lazy to the point i didn't add anything expect some basic info.
ROOMLAND (MSPFA #001)
I already tried reading this one when I thought I would just liveread each and every one of these on my twitch channel, despite having an average viewership of about 0 Viewers Per Stream. Basically, this early sleuthlike shows us at A) this site was basically a site made for Mirroring, not specifically hosting/creating, webcomics, and B) the webcomics that did get popular tended to fit the MSPA mould pretty well. What I’m saying is, this webcomic feels like a gamer webcomic that got made in the early 2000s internet. It’s oddly obsessed about manly machismo, it’s got the smoothest flash animations you ever did darn see, and parts of it are missing because the mirrorer couldn’t find them, and they are probably lost to history. This made working through the later parts of the comic…slightly spotty, since I always felt like I was missing context from the previous, prior scenes that were literally not available for me to view.
Honestly, the main thing I want to say about this is that it’s indicative of all the other MSPFAs that were originally mirrored on MSPFA, before Homestuck became the next big thing (Homestuck was at Act 3, Page 956, when this MSPFA first got posted). The coolest parts are definitely when the artstyle changes from the MSPA-house style to different modes of drawing, like the papercraft dimension that is visited in Act 2. It’s an okay read if you want to read through the first MSPFA on the site, but besides that novelty, probably not worth going back to.
Hi. I've run the numbers, and it turns out, all I need to read is 247 fanadventures. Also, that I'm going to read 48, 494 pages. It would be larger if I would read all the MSPFAs all the way through, but instead, I'm going to read just the year's worth of pages they uploaded in the year they were created (I hope that makes sense). It's going to probably take...a while, but I have a spreadsheet now to help me, and I'm starting off strong by reading ROOMLAND, the sleuthlike that has the honor of being the fanadventure with the id of 1. Pretty Cool. I'm probably not going to upload a lot until I, like, finish one, and then give my thoughts on it. So, uh, stayed tuned I guess?
When I finally got around to playing Undertale, the whole time I was reminded of a specific webcomic. Couldn’t remember the name until now (read as, I finally bothered to look it up)
If you were part of the mspafa community at all you probably got a huge forum adventure vibe from the game as a whole, but in particular I kept coming back to RoomLand.
I think it was all the spiders.
