February 13, 2019 Walking from Roosevelt Field to Walmart changed how I perceived the streets of Manhattan. I've taken sidewalks for granted. When was the last time I had to push a button to be able to safely cross the street? It's been ages. Getting to point B from point A was a literal suicide mission; for the life of me, I couldn't find a safe way to get there. I was nearly hit by several cars just to get out of the mall (which reminds me too much of Queens Center, just bigger). Walmart was pretty neat. It's not that different from Target, though. The area was too isolated for my taste. Seems like you NEED a car to get to somewhere. Freezing this time of year; I might come back in the Spring, take my time scouring. First impression: eh. Not exactly a photogenic area, but it's definitely a welcoming change of pace compared to the city. Took the n24 all the way to Broadway Mall in Hicksville afterwards. I like that mall.
