For the reading asks! 8. Do you judge a book by its cover? and 9. How do you store and organise your books?
Thanks @rooshappy! <3
8 - Totally. Although I’m not fussy, if a cover is too dull I won’t pick it up to read the blurb. I’m drawn to brighter colours, pretty covers, and if it features plants that pulls me in, I think just because I like green. Although I noticed from my goodreads year in review that I started off last year in a very ‘blue’ phase and finished in ‘hot pink’ :D I’m guilty of being a bit down on film tie-in covers too - some internal snobbery there, even though occasionally (cough The Notebook cough) the film surpasses the book.
9 - Haphazardly, is perhaps the best way to describe it. I have one proper bookcase, a couple of other shelves, then everything else is piled up getting in the way. I even have a bag for life full of books which my parents deposited with me to get out of their house, and I haven’t yet decanted. I don’t organise - no alphabetising, no colour wheel, not even genre groupings - although authors will generally have their works in the same place. Other than that it’s all done on memory. I have a reasonable visual memory, so can normally picture where the book I want is. There’s a vague atom of order in that books I’ve read are more likely to be properly shelved, with TBRs stacked in front.

For the ask thing! 1. Do you sing when alone? 5. Favorite thing cats do? 9. Do you make wishes? 11. Write 10 words to describe your personality.
Hello! Thank you for asking! Sorry for the delay.

1. Do you sing when alone?
Yes, very often. Sometimes just made up songs about whatever I’m doing at the moment, sometimes actual songs. Personally, I’ve actually found singing to be really helpful in managing my anxiety. It takes just enough concentration that it keeps me from dwelling on my thoughts when I’m doing things like washing dishes or brushing my teeth.
I’ve even been thinking about taking singing lessons because I wish I was a little better at it. (The only downside to many years in band: my ear is trained just well enough to know that I don’t sing that well.)
5. Favorite thing cats do?
I like the big stretch when they get long and have a big, toothy yawn.
9. Do you make wishes?
Yes! Why not?
11. Write 10 words to describe your personality.
Oh, hm. I would hope that I come across as helpful, kind, caring, funny, thoughtful, patient, and earnest. I know that I can also be repetitive, abrupt, and forgetful. 10 words is a lot.
At @rooshappy’s, 18 May 2016.
I wanted to draw something for @rooshappy, but I’m rubbish at drawing so hey.
(Edited with PhotoScape, though I’m not sure if that made it better or worse.)
