mina idk if this is the answer you’d want to hear but my opinion is that anything from batb2017 is uh. Bad

and evermore is, for me, the worst of the new songs tbh? it was hammy, it was unnecessary (let’s be real none of the new songs were really NECESSARY by any stretch but) and it really didn’t add much to beast’s character, esp not the way it was performed

comparison with the original is inevitable bc the whole movie was clearly just a rehash of the animated film, and whereas the animation made it more poignant and heartbreaking just to show beast alone in his tower as belle rides away, the live-action had to pad out the scene with an excessively drawn-out emotional chord (literally....because it’s a whole song.........ha hah ha......) and just. i hated it.

(did you watch into the woods? the disney live-action film? that one wasn’t very good either imo but i loved the song “agony” bc it was deliberately VERY hammy and full of faux manpain, it was easily the funniest bit in the movie, and when “evermore” came on in the theatre i whispered “AGONY” into my friend’s ear and we both fucking lost it. that’s what it reminds me of tbh)

what is oso’s gf like? i’m interested ^^

She's still not fully developed because I only really think about her when I see things that make me think of her (plus I've also struggled to settle on a name for her which just makes her feel even more like only a concept aaaahhhh) but the best way to describe her is as a working woman who has goals, knows what she wants, and how she's gonna get there.

You know.

The complete opposite of Oso.

Because of the drastic difference in their life plans and goals they unfortunately are very on and off (despite the differences in their plans they still love each other a lot, and both never truly get over the other, even when theyre seeing other people) After a good couple years Oso eventually comes to realize that one day she might not come back, that she'll get tired of waiting around for him and finally move on to someone much better and that he won't know what to do with himself when that happens. He also realizes that maybe a real adult relationship isn't so restraining after all and so they eventually get married.

She's a career woman who is really amused by Oso (that amusement turns into fondness, fondness turns into affection, affection turns into love lol) and really appreciates him for being the goofy chill presence in her life she often neglects for herself. She can also keep up with his sense of humor and has a comeback for just about anything he can possibly think of lol

Looks wise, she's chubby/curvy with bangs and medium length straight hair (the specific inspo I got was this post I saw where a girl asks a guy "so you like chubby girls?" And the guy's face is blank before it turns into a pervy grin in response and it just SCREAMED Oso to me lol) and dresses very smartly (like Ivette casual isn't really her thing) she's a bit shorter than Oso making her the perfect height for him to throw his arm around her when they walk, and Oso loves to call her babe or a nickname (which I'll write when I settle on her name aaaaahhhhh) and that's about all I got for her right now!

pls elaborate on ur poseidon au my mythology-loving self is v interested ^^

It’s not really a fully fleshed out AU, it’s more creating a setting around the Poseidon Kara Hesokuri Wars set (though the particular idea I had was Poseidon Kara but in the Tabimatsu outfit cause it feels a little more Kara walking on land-ish to me)

The brothers are all their respective gods from the set, and it is 100000000000000000000000% not historically accurate in the slightest haha The boys are all still brothers, Ivette takes on the role of Amphitrite but instead of being a nymph she’s a mortal woman and other stuff like that (*´ω｀*)

I feel like my head-canon body types are pretty similar to others?

Like Osomatsu being pretty average but having a slight beer belly, he’s still young and his metabolism is good but I remember from one of the live events the cast talked about how they all pretty much agreed he’d probably have a full on beer belly later in life, I also imagine that he has slightly thick thighs for some reason? Maybe all the beer and oden making detours to his butt and legs lol

I see Karamatsu as a guy who looks like he’s built because of his shoulders, arms, and thighs but in reality he’s more soft than he is muscle. You’d grab onto his arm expecting the muscle to be hard only to find that it’s a little squishier than expected? The others probably look at him and think “You’re buff but not buff?? What??” That’s not to say he has no muscle at all though XD

Choromatsu is pretty lean, he’s not super thin but he definitely doesn’t have the beginnings of Oso’s beer belly or Kara’s kinda muscle/kinda chub going on, it’s a little bit of a nerd look but he’s not super athletic and he spends his time dancing away his troubles at Nyaa-chan’s concerts so it just feels right haha.

Ichimatsu, now here’s where i’m a little indecisive. I can see him being lean like Choro, because like him, he’s not really athletic and he just likes to sit and pet cats at home, but not too long ago I was commissioned to draw a post-Osomatsu-san ‘Jyushi introducing Ichi to his and Homura-chan’s baby’ and the commissioner requested I draw their head-canon for older Ichi, and it made a lot of sense for the very same reasons. He sits and pets cats all day (and apparently Ichi’s a soda drinker soooo yeah it made sense haha) I can see him as both skinny and chubby.

Jyushimatsu, oh boy, Jyushimatsu. There’s not much else to say other than he’s the body you think Kara has lol He wears his baggy clothes so you don’t really think much of his body but once that boy’s running round nakes you see it’s not the case. He has a broad set of shoulders too but the rest of the muscle to go with them lol He may not have actually played baseball till the invitational but there’s no denying of his ability to swing a bat in the hundreds.

Todomatsu I see as having a bit of a similar body type to Choromatsu but more defined. He goes to the gym so he’s a muscled lean as opposed to Choromatsu’s indoor person lean so he’s not as skinny. I also picture Totty with rounder hips (I know I know, make the pink one the one with a slightly girlish figure is super boring but I just can’t see him having hips like Kara and Jyushi) he might not be as big as the other two but he’s in better shape than the rest of them.

These were probably all predictable but they’re the ones I like to attribute to the boys when drawing ^^”
