Come to think of it, he would probably identify with every one of the main characters: Mirabel = being not good enough, desperately wanting to be heard and seen Bruno = being ostracized by his family, wanting a connection Luisa = carrying the responsibility without having anyone to share it with Isabela = the expectation of being perfect and successful Abuela Alma = losing a loved one way too early, needing to protect everyone you love
For months after, just mentioning Encanto is enough to make Ilya's lips tremble. Which leads to a set of new rules in the Hollander-Rozanov household: 1. We don't talk about Encanto 2. ***IF*** we talk about Encanto, we do it only on days we don't plan to go out anymore, because Ilya is going to be teary and clingy like a baby sloth 🦥
