I’d really like to see the Croatian team win, they deserve it immensely. 

As a French, I regret our team won against Belgium. We could have had both the pleasures of beating England in the 3rd place playoff and seeing the Croats win the Cup. Now, whatever happens in the Finale I’ll be both happy and a little sad.

L’anglais there is a coldness to les anglais when dealing with the public a hurry up & go please cease to bother me with your needs (& always oh so polite) so I can return to my inner dialogue with that soft eagerness to refute begin a sentence with a no no we don’t do that oh no we don’t offer those to take a compliment as a personal insult an embarrassment invasion of privacy how dare you how very dare you notice this land of net curtains at all windows to hide shade the inner sanctum where only family & a select few close friends may possibly be welcomed where hushed voices amongst the potted plants will inquire gently & when do you leave?
