(Rose Tico x Reader): More Than Fine
Summary: Reader and Rose get caught under the mistletoe
A/N: I loved Rose in TLJ and I know this is super cheesy but I couldn’t get this idea out of my head
“Hey Rose! Do you want to go grab some dinner?” You call out as you walk into the dungy room that functions as Rose’s workshop of sorts, “I figured we’d go a bit early so we’d have a chance to go out and celebrate tonight.”
“Sounds good, just give me a sec to clean up.” She replies, popping up from behind a table, grease and grime dotting her face and coveralls. She quickly unzips it and takes it off, revealing the standard uniform. As she went over to the sink to wash the grime off you couldn’t help but watch her. Even after a long day of work she looked absolutely perfect.
“You ready?’ She asks you, snapping you out of your day dream.
You grin at her before stepping out into the hallway, “Let’s go.” You reply as you start walking towards the canteen.
While you and Rose caught up on your walk to the canteen, you were unaware of was the fact that your friends were currently plotting to help you two get together. You were well aware of how long you had been pining after Rose (as were all of your friends- you had a habit of talking about Rose any time you weren’t actually with Rose). But what you didn’t know was that Rose did the same thing when she was with your friends.
When you reached the doorway that led in, you were stopped by one of your friends frantically gesturing at you and Rose before pointing up. With that you looked up and saw a familiar sprig of leaves above your heads.
“Uhh...Rose?” You said awkwardly, not taking your eyes off of the mistletoe above you.
“Why’d you stop?” She asks as she follows your line of sight upwards, “Oh.”
“We-it-we don’t have to do anything if you don’t-” You start stammering quickly.
“No! I mean, I’m okay with it if you’re okay with it,” She says with a small smile, “more than fine with it if we’re being hon-”
Before Rose could say anything else your lips were pressed against hers. With what you took to be Rose’s admission to maybe liking you, you couldn’t help but take the opportunity that had been presented to you. You felt yourself melt into the kiss as you brought your hands up to cup her cheeks.
After another moment you finally break away, “So, I’m going to go out on a limb and admit that I have feelings for you.” You tell her with a smirk.
“You’re the worst,” She mutters before grabbing one of your hands in her own, “But I like you too.”
