So I’m back to making crossover aus, this time being criminal case x beastars. I’ve finished the main cast for mysteries of the past (mostly since that’s one of my favorite games of the series, if not overall)
Issac is a wood bison since bisons are highly attuned to their surroundings, strong, and resilient; which is very important skills to have in his job. He is specifically that bison since that species is one of the few bison types that were around during that time period (1800s US). That type felt more fitting than the others for him.
Maddie is a dog, specially an american cocker spaniel (with red fur) since that breed is known to be very outgoing and sociable. In addition to her being the same species as Charles (I didn’t want to make a hybrid). She’s a carnivore since it’s a great parallel to Isaac being a herbivore; like how he’s more serious and she’s not as serious. Also because her hair is (kinda) similar to that dog breed; wavy.
Richard is a vulture, specially the black vulture since vultures are associated with the dead, that only felt fitting since Richard is the coroner. Also, during that time, vultures were seen as beneficial. As well as vultures being seen as strange creatures, which fits with Richard being odd at times. He’s that specific type since that type of vulture, the black vulture, and the turkey vulture were around in the US at the time, but the other type of vulture didn’t fit him as well.
Viola is a mute swan since swans are used to symbolize grace, beauty, and wisdom; which fits her well. She’s specifically that type of swan since that was one of the three that were around in that place and time (1800s US), but that type fits the most. Also because it felt more fitting for her to be a herbivore rather than a carnivore.
Charles is an American Labrador Retriever since him being a dog fits perfectly with his personality; enthusiastic, optimistic, reckless, and trusting of others. He’s that specific dog breed since they have very similar personalities, as well as having very similar hair colors (fur color for the dog). As well as that dog being in the US during the 1800s.
Evie is a Dorset sheep since dorsets are smart sheep with fluffy wool; and she has (somewhat) fluffy hair and is incredibly smart. Additionally, this type of sheep has both the rams and the ewes having horns, which would look nice for her. Also, it would make Katherine and her into a sheep/wolf couple (of course Katherine is a wolf, her last name is Woolf)
Rose is a leopard cat because it’s both a carnivore and an amazing hunter, that fits her amazingly since she’s the weapons expert. That species is also very small—like her (she’s 5’0)—as well as that cat living (or more so used to live) in China, and Rose is Chinese. The reason she’s a species of (wild) cat instead of any other type of animal is partly a joke about how she has Ratsputin (idk how that would work in this au, but whatever).
Diego is an iberian wolf. The wolf part being obvious, it’s literally in his name (Del Lobo)(more so Lobo), and it’s specifically an iberian wolf since some populations of that wolf lives in Spain. Also because it’s a subspecies of gray wolf, which was originally the plan, but picking a wolf that’s specifically from where he is from would fit better. Also, he would have darker fur since of his suit and top hat he wears which are both mostly black
Arthur is an English Shepherd because being a canine already makes sense for him, especially a dog known for being charming, intelligent, and kind of bossy (sorry). Also because this type of dog could make a good police dog. As well as the dog breed being around in the 1800s. (And because they look similar, if that makes sense.)
