Look what followed me home early this morning. Varieties: ‘South Africa’ and ‘Eternal Flame’. My gardens and creating new ones are keeping me sane in these dark daze. Still ‘sheltered in place” ...I heard these Roses calling for me to come save them. I am Lion..and down I went to the village and found them dry and in need of water. The Full Flower Moon will bless them tonight. OM <3

While I am dreaming of a white Christmas, which of course is never going to happen here in San Diego, I am also dreaming of our next England trip! Going to England is the greatest gift for me and I hope it is happening next year again. The photo was taken at Town Place a few years back, an amazing private garden located in Sheffield Park, East Sussex, England. It shows an old farmhouse with an incredibly charming rose garden in front of it. Growing up I always had a fascination with roses. The Rose itself not only smells great but has amazing heeling effects to the skin making it softer and leaves you in a tranquil state of mind. The red and white rose is used to celebrate homecoming at my high school. The homecoming queen is presented with a white rose upon wining and her court is presented with a red rose. Roses are a big part of my life. I would take care of the family rose bushes. As I have grown older I developed a better appreciation for them when I learned that Milton Hershey would give his wife flowers almost everyday. These roses were planted at their mansion and later planted across town at the now Hershey rose gardens. He loved throw wife so much he shows his appreciation by giving her roses. A great husband and a great man. I hope that one day I will grow up to be just like Milton S. Hershey in those regards. Pictures above is a rose at my family homestead in Hershey.
