Title: Your Sister’s Sister Year: 2011 Language: US (English)

Plot: Set in a cottage where Iris invites her friend Jack to recover while mourning the death of his brother, he is surprised to find Iris's lesbian sister Hannah is also staying, recovering from her recent break-up. After a bottle of tequila Jack and Hannah wake up to find Iris at the door. The triangular relationship seeps out secrets and feelings that no one is expecting.

Basic Review:

Although the central theme of the film is not directly reliant on the fact that one of the main characters is a lesbian, it still portrays a problematic representation of female relationships in modern film culture.

The lesbian character is portrayed in a stereotypical way, trying to use a man in the quest of a pregnancy.

There are daring conversations between the sisters and a very human experience is beautifully expressed by Emily Blunt and Rosemary Dewitt.

This film is a bit Hollywood but if viewed from the perspective of a light hearted dramatic comedy, it can be a pleasure.
