Homestuck - A retcon inquiry, Roxy’s kernelsprite
A few days ago, I was musing, thinking about the sprites from the Retroactive continued (Retcon’d) timeline, then stumbled at a weird finding. What happened to Roxy’s kernelsprite??
Warning: pre and post-retcon spoilers! Don’t read beyond this point if you didn’t reach [S] Collide!
Let’s trace back our way and remind ourselves the state of the Alpha session’s sprites, pre-retcon first.
Jane’s kernelsprite were unfortunately prototyped with Vriska’s and Tavros’s corpses, forming Tavrisprite.

The result was quite catastrophic, since the two personalities mixed together didn’t go along.
Roxy’s were the stable combination of Nepeta and Feferi, Fefetasprite.

Jake end up with Erisolsprite, formed of Eridan and Sollux, which he tormented with his boyfriend problems. It’s surprisingly a stable fusion.

Then finally, the last sprite and last to by prototyped: Equiusprite that quickly turned into Arquiusprite. I’m still pissed about why he wasn’t named Halquiusprite. Anyway, I digress.

Now that is done, let’s fast forward (no funny montage for it though, sorry).
Tavrisprite = Exploded
Fefetasprite = Also exploded :(
Erisolsprite = Exploded, I think. According to the wiki he “possibly died in planetary collisions”.
Arquiusprite = Either went away to another reality or died from the destruction of most of the Lands. All the sprites from the pre-retcon timeline turn back into operated troll ghosts.
But let see those from the post-retcon reality:
Vriska was (cough cough) “nice” enough to prototype Tavros into Jane’s kernelsprite, but then cruelly add GCAT even though she perfectly knew he was (at least he think he is) allergic to cats.
She proceed to prototype Dirk’s kernelsprite (again), with Equius. He then prototyped Hal in it, as promised.
I think she didn’t even bother to prototype Jake’s, as she seems him as unimportant (which I disagree to).
Vriska and Terezi agreed to bring back Feferi and Nepeta back. As such, Jasperose took the initiative to bring back Nepeta herself.

But from here many questions re left unanswered.
Did Fefetasprite even existed in this reality?
What about the state of the purple kernelsprite? Is it still empty?
Did Vriska didn’t bothered with it? Then where is it?
Did Hussie discarded it as useless for the plot? Did he really lamely ignored Feferi and throw her resurrection and relevance into the trash bin??
I have a theory:
Maybe the universe and the Denizens knew that another Roxy’s sprite would appear, so perhaps Nix decided to remove the post-retcon Kernelsprite from the equation?
Equius, a Heir of Void, wasn’t mentioned after his death, so it could be the same for a kernelsprite bonded to a Void player. It makes sense, even though Feferi was promised to be resurrected. Not only she could have helped during the fights as a Life player, but she simply deserved to be alive again, and be with her friends.
