I Head Cannon that Goldie is actually a really good cook, but since she has no family to cook for she just chooses to live off of room service at her own hotels or take out. Until she starts sticking around the manor more.

new ep dropping soon!!

just a few quick reminders: the updates will be using a different format from now on. it’s not as detailed but this is to help make sure I can be efficient with these comics and not post one every one to two months.

(and save me a lot of time lol. for reference, the original format would take me 3-5 hours to do depending on my attention span, which is a lot for a weekly schedule. this one will take 1 hour, 2 hours max)

also! all the other installments will be kept as named as “chapter #: page #” but because the formatting isn’t like a page anymore the names will be “act #: part/episode: #”. the numbers will still be going from the last one (i.e. tonight’s episode will be “act 4: part 16” it’s just a different format :)

So I had this silly idea where Jon's first explaining the entities and The Beholding to someone, and they're not fully paying attention and they just go "like queer eye?" and ofc Jon's never heard of it but Martin is screaming in the background

i know that body horror gjinkas is no new thing but... im still hype about my lore/art/subspecies sorta project and i want a billion pairs because just every gene is so fun to make into something creepy. 

okapi markings that are literally just string or lace where their body should be, transparent throat and stomach full of black goo, ringlets of dead skin or tattoos that move across their body or ink that cant be scrubbed away, lace that feels just like the fabric but is permanently sewn to the body or like cobwebs or holding their limbs together, black fireflies that seem practically a part of them, a constant buzzing in their ear like theyre rotting meat and maybe they are, smirch as a permanent sticky residue thats just a part of their skin, or maybe more like an oilslick, powerful dark runes that they were simply born with that hold power nobody even knows, crackle or gembond that grows as theyre harmed to bind their wounds together and eventually consumes them,  BASICALLY every gene minus like underbelly can have such a fun lore or art implication and im hype af. i know im not unique as fuck or whatever but im having a GOOD ass time

and i love seeing other ppls genes changing their lore too! i usually dont but its cool as  Hell

I had some words about the season three episode and believe me, I have many critiques but below is a little look at how Lila works in this story and it’s primarily positive and praises the writing. Just wanted to give my two cents!

Lila is the perfect villain for Ladybug because Lila foils Marinette.

Before we begin, I have to address the butterfly in the room. While Hawkmoth is the main villain and I don’t see him leaving anytime soon, he doesn’t really foil Ladybug or challenge her character the way Lila does. He’s an awful father and manipulative character but he’s apathetic to anything that isn’t his wife (and arguably he’s not apathetic concerning Adrien and Natalie but that’s not always as clear as his dedication to Emilie). Yes, he does get frustrated when he loses and always makes ominous comments that indicate a dislike for Ladybug but he really doesn’t care what happens to Ladybug once he gets her miraculous. He doesn’t care what happens to anyone but his small family throughout the entire series and the only thing that makes him stop chasing the miraculous is Adrien’s safety. For the most part he’s apathetic and just doesn’t have a problem with Ladybug other than she’s one of the obstacles between him and his wish.

Lila absolutely hates Ladybug. Lila doesn’t care about the miraculous, she’s after Ladybug personally. In this part of her character, we see what makes her Ladybug’s most formidable enemy but also what Lila’s true weakness is.

Lila is the opposite of Marinette because Marinette's greatest strength is her kindness and willingness to be there for and protect others. Marinette loves her city and the people in it and she continues to prove to love those that are hard for her to love, like Chloe. Lila is trying to get Marinette to lose all that and I imagine her doing that to Ladybug easily, such as using Adrien as leverage against her all the way back to season one. Lila wants to use Mari's ties and friendships as leverage against her. But she can't because Mari keeps on loving people. Mari may apologize and put up with so much but it’s because of her huge capacity to love. Lila? Her biggest weakness, what she considers her biggest strength, is her hate. She could have easily gotten Chat Noir's miraculous but her beef was with Ladybug and she chased her down in a blind rage, causing her to lose the fight. Eventually, her lies are going to come back to bite her too, like when everyone finds out she lies and I believe that this is where she completely foils Marinette.

I think both Marinette and Lila have the same fear, deep down, and it's isolation. True isolation. Being unwanted, untrusted, and cast aside no matter what they do. Whether they are a good person or pretend to be. If Lila continues down her path on the liar low road and Marinette continues on the higher road, Lila is the one who's going to be alone because, while she and Marinette have the same fear, a similar weakness, Marinette is the one who proves constantly that she can overcome this fear with love for others and for herself.

A few visual examples we got from the episode that further cement Lila being Marinette’s foil is how Marinette overcame the akuma while Lila SNATCHED it. Out of all akumatized victims, both showed control over the akuma. Marinette was able to hold her own against it while Lila fully in control took the akuma and forced it into something that has become a symbol in this show. Lila forced the akuma into her earrings, the same piece of jewelry that Marinette uses. Both, by choice, used power imbued earrings. The difference? Lila used hers to be a villain. Marinette uses hers to be a hero.

Also I know that the exact opposite of Creation is destruction but honestly? Illusion is sort of a foil for Creation. Creation is real and trustworthy while illusion is just what you want to see, but not real. And you know it would be SPECTACULAR if they dove into the difference between Rene Rouge and Volpina. Because Alya is a journalist and she does search for the truth but when do illusions or misdirecting get used for good? How does Alya having the miraculous of illusions make her a hero vs the fox who masters lies?
