Does your muse initiate a lot of physical contact?
Nooo, he is timid and needs his partner to take the lead, at least initially (although he always craves and welcomes that contact, he’s just shy). Months, and I mean months, into a steady relationship, he will show surprising assertiveness, however, and when you notice that, that’s when you know he’s truly secure in your love.

Orlo has no idea how attractive he is. No. Idea. His diminutive stature, spectacles (still don’t get this one personally, I think they make him look hot) and lack of hypersexual speech and behavior have made him the brunt of a thousand and one “lobcock” and “eunuch” jokes, both from men and women (lookin at you and your internalized misogyny, Marial). He is genuinely stunned when Catherine (albeit to make a point) compliments his mouth and eyes, and quickly assigns it the status of a mere joke, and when anyone else approaches him as a suitor, his first inclination is to think it’s a cruel prank. :( He even thinks his lovers stay with him in spite of his appearance, not because of it.

See above. Initially his self-esteem short-circuits his natural ambition and leadership. But once he gets outside his head and conceives of the relationship as just another human interaction dynamic, he gains confidence and becomes markedly dominant. It just takes time, but there’s a lion curled up inside this mouse, lol <3
