Guess what guys its Rose Week and like

Holy fuck does Dave love Rose okay they are a Good Family and thats great so I’m posting my Rose stuff here whenever I do stuff (which probably wont be a lot)

Day 1’s prompt is dark so I thought it would be a good time to (re)post my Grimdark Rose cosplay! What a lovely girl I love her

You stand on a bed of stone. Next to you stands your brother upon his own.  But that is not the object of interest.

The countdown continues.

Before you rests a machine that emerged from the Tumor which you deployed.  You knew that it would come to this.  A counter on the machine counts down to an oblivion you knew would come. Somehow, you had foreseen it, despite all your attempts to play it safe.

You look down upon the slab on which you stand.  It should protect you, you were promised.  You have seen the results for yourself on another.  Death is not the end, not while you reside upon this structure.

The countdown continues.

Yet you worry.  You’ve always attempted to hide your fear, and you have the perfect opportunity to do so.  The beds will keep you both safe. You know this.  Yet that does not mean death has lost its power over you, you who have been fascinated by it ever since you were small.  You were almost lost once already, and you’ve still lost someone you needed.

The countdown continues.

You look towards your brother, hoping to find something to prop yourself up with, to give yourself hope. You see in his eyes, hidden by his glasses, full of the same fear as yours.  He, too, is frightened of the unknown, of the fate that awaits him when the end comes.  He has already seen death affect him, and he knows it cannot be escaped.

The countdown continues.

There is a comfort in your shared fear, however.  The end may be near, and it may be inevitable.  Even should you make it through this unscathed, there’s no promise that tomorrow will prove any safer.  But at least you know you did it together.  That neither of you could leave the other behind.  That you stuck together until the worthless bitter end.

The countdown concludes.

The end is brighter than you ever thought anything could be.

Dave banged the Mini-Zillyhammer down.

“This court will now come to order for the case of Egbert vs Lalonde, for custody of the salamander known as Casey and also known as Viceroy Bubble von Salamancer.”

Dave sat back in the makeshift Judge’s seat.  John and Rose stood besuited, ready to present their cases.  Jade was sitting in the back of “courtroom”, which was really just an open Earth C field, playing with the salamander that was subject to such a serious case.

Dave rubbed his temples. “This is stupid.”

Rose waved a finger, tut-tuting. “Dave, you don’t understand the importance of the court in the decision. The viceroy must complete his training under my tutelage.  He is key to the future protection of the realm, and I can be the one to give him the magical prowess he must possess. In addition, my gorgeous, radiant, darling, wonderful wife can aid me using her own knowledge of the supernatural.  For the good of all, The Viceroy must be released to my care.”

John slammed his hand into his fist. “Objection, your honor!  Casey can’t spend all her time just in training!  She needs to see the world!  Go adventuring!  Learn to bake! I have a ton of movies I want to show her too!  She’s still growing, she has to live as much of her life as she can! I mean, I don’t even think Salamanders live that long!  You have to let me take her!”

“John, you can’t let sentimentality blind you here.  Think of the realm.”

“We’re here to protect the world!  Let her go free, she’s just a kid!”

Rose and John continued to argue, as Dave lazily pounded the gavel. Jade suddenly shouted dramatically!

“Stop!”

Rose, John and Dave looked over in surprise.  Jade held the salamander in her arms.  

“Hasn’t anyone asked them what THEY want?”

All eyes turned to the little yellow reptile.  It paused briefly, then opened its mouth to reveal a single bubble that slowly popped with a glub.

Jade cheered.  Rose nodded sagely.  John wiped a tear away. Dave shrugged.  “The court decrees that the salamander can do whatever the fuck it wants.”

Court adjourned.
