Why do you think old man Daniel is gonna die? I do too, mainly cause Eric said he considered himself retired but agreed to do the show to basically work with Jacob so… Plus the man is literally 70 years old. I do think the doctor took some of his blood/dna and will use it and we’ll get young Daniel(Luke). But old man Daniel might be done for.
and if I said it's just cause I'm a loumaniel truther who wants daniel to get fridged for loumand angst man pain?
No but really it just feels to me like a very fitting conclusion to the Daniel portrait the show (and I do mean specifically the show alone) has been painting for us.
I can go more into how I think his relationship with his mortality directed the ebb and flow of those tumultuous 49 years especially with nothing but a scar on his neck serving as a constant reminder of the life that could've been but that's a whole speculative post for another day.
Ultimately, he's a very stubborn man and I think it'll be on brand for him to find the mortality that was forced on him and life that came with it invaluable. He's still obsessed with these creatures, still terrified of them, and deep down still wants to be them but maybe he feels living a full mundane human life gives him some kind of insight they'll never have (if his air of superiority is any indication). The prospect that no matter what vampire apocalypse madness goes down, if one or both of them initiate a relationship, even if he gets put in immediate danger for plot reasons, he will still cling to that mortality till the very end puts a smile on my face.
Well that's just me, high chance it could go any which way and I'll still be sat, Eric is definitely in it for the long haul. Not sure about the blood work age reversal theory, not really my jam but I do think Fareed is coming back in a major way and Daniel will find a way to be involved in that somehow because of course.
