Shattered veils more characters and concepts
I swear I'm working on shattered veils it hasn't went anywhere it's just been alot of background work. We've been figuring out some more of the world building for the regions and folks that live within this world. Kind of working on characters that also exist outside of the main cast, cause as much as we long them there's so much more to exsplore within the world outside of them.
So I ended up doodling some other character concepts.
Horse dude at the top is called Willkurr, he's a member of the rebellion. Prior to joining though he was a farmer that ended up being forced to join the army and become a soilder, then later went on to join the rebellion after many of his squadmates and people in his town were killed leaving him as a survivor. Now in the rebellion he mainly stays at main camp, tending to crops and animals, being a farmer again, though now with the skills of a soilder under his belt when it's needed. He is one of the stronger members back at main camp, though his focus is farming not being a soilder. He doesn't like people who slack in Thier work, he was also one of the first folks to notice unathis presence effected the crops negatively.
The second character after willkurr is Rossko, Rossko works on a train in a big city that is more advanced in technology. This train he works on has sleeper carts and it's mainly used by higher up society as it tends to be used as a moving hotel of sorts, since the strain can't travel too far from the city as tracks are still in development. He's a charming man and gets along with alot of passengers, though often older folks keep trying to get him to marry Thier neases and nephews around rosskos age, because they like him so much they want him as part of the family.
Prior to the train life he had lived with his parents in the countryside, however as a teenager his parents were killed. People told him they had died of illness, but he knew that wasn't true, they were killed for magical components. He was supposed to go to the city to live with his aunt on his mother's side of the family, however she never came to get him from the station, she abandoned him. It was the folks on the train who took him in that day, it's been his home since.
The centaur doesn't have a name, but Thier a soilder stuck under the voraith, a wild herd of centaurs lives in the areas the voraith were taking over. His family was the last to be captured in those areas, he was a teenager when they were captured and taken in against Thier will. They were shaped into and forced to be reluctant soilders. Though they were obedient, the voraith used punishment and other means to make them comply, one such thing is they piercing Thier noses with nose rings, sometimes attaching chains to the nose rings to control them like how some folks use nose rings on bulls. Thier hair is cut short and Thier tails cropped sometimes. Sometimes soilders will ride the centaurs but that depends on if they are deemed tamed enough to do so. So yeah 👍 pretty shit situation for the centaurs under the voraith.
The sphinx cat is actually a leader character within a specific desert region in shattered veils. They haven't been named but I was trying to figure out how they looked but they were supposed to have a bunch of tattoos ect. But they are a master in trade, alot of places tend to organise trading with them for goods. But also alliances, they were known to have rather skilled soilders and are a strong ally to have. They do have a humanoid form but no one has ever really seen it and that is intentional, it's done for safety reasons to keep some part of Thier identity private so when they need to be escorted in secret they can be. The shattered veils bunch will meet them at some point in the story I believe to form an alliance and trade agreement.
The last guy is someone we've just named the seawolf for now, I was also messing with artstyles lol so ignore how different the style looks in one image , cause that's what it was. Anyway he's a werewolf, specific a seawolf based werewolf. These are some larger werewolves that roam in packs around the coasts, they hunt for food in the seas. This guy grew up in a pack that was a matriarchy, he got kicked out of it when he came out to his mother as being a transman, him and his mother have a great relationship. Him getting kicked was his mother's way of respecting him as a man, they still see each but he is no longer part of her pack, he'll always be her baby though. He's had a rough time trying to get into packs for so many different reasons, that ultimately he ended up not in one. Instead he not lives in a lighthouse by the sea running it all the time, when he's not there he's at a bar by the coast. What he thinks is fun about him is he just always smells of wet dog no matter what he tries 😭 cause of him being a seawolf.
But yeah there's some more infos on shattered veils ✨ and more characters within it.

THE ANSWER / ROSSCO
hm.
Rossco Mate to Alpha Scythe Tear, Rossco is the reigning male of the singetail flock and is quite the opposite to his beloved. While Scythe Tear is the embodiment of intimidation and power, Rossco is the embodiment of rolling in the mud and staring at toads for obscene amounts of time. Rossco is the heart and soul of the flock, and is one of the most friendly, albeit, unintelligent wild singetails one could ever come across. Despite this, he's adored by his human-killing machine of a mate who apparently likes them funny and dumb.
