we were in something like a dark forest(dark green)under a big tree behind a huge glowing in red mushroom. there were trolls all around (varying in size)entering into a city that was surrounded by a wall(medieval era style)

🐱a mission?why is this alice in the wonderland themed?

🧸it’s not

🐱oh it’s not?

🧸there are trolls here. see *points at the trolls*

🐱but the mushrooms are so big-

🧸shh… focus. keep quiet

🐱*nods* yeah yeah i will- (that’s when something happened & we were shot up on one of the branches of the tree behind us)

🐱so high up? how did this happen? i thought we were supposed to fight those

🧸just watch and break the branches

🐱break the branches? they are so dry.. the whole tree is dr-

(that’s when the branch broke off and we jumped on another)

🧸the mission is to break off the branches

🐱break off the branches? all of them?

🧸all of them. the tree is dead already

🐱so it needs a final push-

🧸for its full destruction

(we broke the branches while jumping from one to another like lemurs. when a branch was broken & was about to hit the ground it would burn into ash. it happened to every branch bc he was burning them & was watching like

🐱so i’m not allowed to use my powers here but you are? how is that fair?

🧸just follow along and keep quiet

(the last branch was broken off and burned so we had to come down bc obviously we didn’t have anywhere to hold anymore & burned the tree.

the moment we landed on the ground. when the tree was in the middle of burning the trolls finally noticed & began to gather around it)

we hid behind a big rock & watched their reaction

🐱are we going to fight them?

🧸no. they are going to fight each other so we will watch

🧌who burned the tree?

🧌there was a tree here?

🧌i don’t remember seeing a tree here

🧌who is responsible for this? was it you? *turns towards the troll next to him that was big and blue & had a drawing of a spiral sun on his belly)

and so they began fighting & arguing about wether there was a tree or not & are continuing to do so while we are watching from the side. they started jumping on each other and fighting because of how divided they were about wether there was a tree or not (even tho the tree was in the state of burning when they gathered around before it turned into ash, so clearly there was a tree). but some arrived to see the ash while others arrived while the tree was burning and others arrived when the ash disappeared as if nothing was there so they got into big arguments over the existence of the tree

things have changed

after we threw in the bomb there was an error which restored the tree to its burning (unredeemable state)& the trolls were panicking, running in disbelief while trying to save the tree (a tree that’s dry&dead)

so everyone knew about the tree&its fate now

Dave recaps an editorial by Rachel Maddow: We’ve been at war in Afghanistan for 16 years. Every year is the same. Because the US has no functional government that can change course.

The USSR in the late 1980s looked like a functioning superpower. But it wasn’t. It was a rotten tree that could be felled with one swift kick. Ronald Reagan saw that and delivered the blow.

That metaphor about the tree and Reagan was something I saw years ago. I don’t agree about Reagan. But the metaphor of the tree that can be felled with one kick stuck with me.

Who will deliver the kick to the US? If things go they way they have been, I suspect it will be internal. And I suspect it will come in the form of de facto secession. States like California, New York, or Texas, with large population and economic clout, will simply start saying no to Washington, while continuing to fly the stars and stripes and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in the classroom. Indeed, we may have already seen that starting with marijuana legalization.
