❛ Don’t pretend it wasn’t deliberate. Everything you do is always deliberate with me.❜ ( from carol to steve )
If it was anyone else she might have been wrong, because what sane person purposefully put himself in the way of a blast of pure energy with only a vibranium shield to place between him and it. Who in their right mind knowing damned good and well she could probably absorb and throw it back twice as hard used said opportunity to get thrown into her to roll and land on top in a position that was not battle field approved.
But she wasn't wrong, and the three cracked ribs and a dislocated elbow had been worth it. At least in his opinion, carefully lifting one shoulder in a shrug as he held his arms up and out of the way for a wrap he didn't need. He was fine, it had been two days ago, the cracks were healed, he was fine, she was just mad because she couldn't stop thinking about it. How was that his fault.
"I don't know why you're mad.' That was true, for all his sass, and teasing, he genuinely could not understand the issue. It'd been a bit of fun to ease the tension. "Were you worried about me?'
Hand catching her wrist, Steve moved it behind his back to pull her in close. Maybe he shouldn't have been playing around when death was that close, but they'd had him, the fight was over though the bastard hadn't realized it yet. Did when the tanker fell from the weakened crane after the chain snapped. Had a kind of hard to miss at that point thing going on, squeezing her hand until she let go of the wrap.
"I've been punching over my weight class before I could breathe, I knew I was going to be okay.' Lips brush over skin to the side of her chin. "But if you want to play Doctor I got better ideas.'
