before I knew it, it'd been like 1.5 months since I'd even touched comic stuff. the good news is that I spent a lot of that time getting better, and am hopefully going to even start school again in late June!

Yes yes yes, Din was watching her long before said rough day broke the ice between them!
How interesting, JUST LIKE SHE WAS WATCHING HIM from afar!!! gaaaaasp!?!?!
Will either ever discover this about the other??
Who knows, heheheheh.
Originally, there wasn't any prolougue part 0, and we were going to start with prlougue part 1 jumping straight into the whole 'how they met' backstory. But I realized it would benefit the audience to get an introduction to some of Dins internal struggles a bit early on, since the hints of development/detail sprinkled trhouought future main chapters could be missed otherwise or not seem as continuous and come from nowhere.
I also wanted an early opprotunity to show ways in which SG would've specifically realized that Grogu has said 'baby shaman powers' that she referances in main chapters. There is another prolougue that includes similar instances, but why not show one while we're still at the beginning, ay?
This prolougue includes messages about both SG and Din charachter-wise Pay very close attention, I do much of my work very intentionally. I am actually not too sure weather the specifc struggle i'm exploring with Din's charachter with the filler content is clear or not to readers at this first instance. I can only hope that later releases will only make it clearer so we can look back and appreciate my sprinkles of hints.
The background content being introduced is heavily based on the original Rough Day backstory drabble by the original author, @no-droids. I was so intruigued by the ideas she had focusing on Din's relashionship with sensory experiences and greatly expanded them to influence him in this comic (AFCR) version. A lot of elements from that drabble are incorporated into the main chapters as expansive filler content to make up for missing smut, as well as giving both M and SG lots of juicy juicy charachterization.
We call Din our beskar Edward because of the stalking. I cackle. You call it wierd I call it dedicated.
That first page was a last minute inclusion after I discovered Creep by Radiohead, or at least a shoegaze version of the song. I actually was reminded of Din before formally reading the lyrics, was sold once I read them (SKIN making him cry?! I mean COME ON!!!!) and just knew I had to use it with these shots I had already made. The page has some redacted words to avoid repetition, and its more of a tone-setting piece for the prolougue rather than Din's literal thoughts. I hope the inclusion of Radiohead lyrics enhances the mood of the release rather than taking away from it lol. But if it seems out of place and weird to you, feel free to ignore it I guess.

this single tiny itty bitty panel took wayyy to long and wayyy to many layers to experement with.
usually with sensory pov-shots, the testings have gone quite well. but i think this closeup just had too manny interacting layers with the clothes, plus the uh fucking HELMET i have to cross section like a little anaatomy drawing. i settled for a stopping point and i hope it makes sense to anyone seeing it for the first time as check a pulse. im sure context will enhance understanding but woosh, i guess well just have to see.
anybody who wants to be added, let me know! tagging on updates isnt something i usually do, but im just not sure what people prefer. i guess you could turn on notifications for the blog, or follow the #rough day comic tag. whatever works for yall! lets see if i can remember to do this every time though, lol.
