Rough Guide project : evaluation

Rough Guide project was a really comfortable introduction into the course. It was interesting to explore Notting Hill, an area of London I was completely unfamiliar with until this project. I very much enjoy exploring new areas, and notting hill was a place with a lot to offer in terms of artistic value and culture. The streets were thriving with tourists and locals alike; there was sense of community on the streets.

My sketchbook development was slow yet I feel like I expressed my view on Notting Hill throughly through it. The next task of choosing a page, photocopying it 110 times, and then further developing each page individually was exhausting yet liberating. I felt as if I truly expressed my self in a non-binary way.

The final outcome of the Rough Guide project is interesting. I really enjoy looking at everyone else’s pages, it is inspiring to see everyone’s different styles and ways of working. I am excited to begin the rotations and really get stuck into this textile design course.
