Cascades jetty, Norfolk Island.
There are no sheltered bays on the island, so boat owners are not allowed to leave their boats in the water overnight. There are two jetties and every fisher's boat has to be craned in and out of the water. I've seen photographs of waves overtopping the jetty as far back as the blue crane.

memory from a former medical officer.
Photographed sometime between July 1919 and January 1924.
