It wasn’t normal to see Taemin nervous about something. Usually he oozed confidence from his pores, but he figured that some humbleness would be required after one of his teachers phoned him, saying that he’d spoken great things about Tae to one of his closest friends--no one other than Rowan Donell, one of the founders of Alpha Tech--and before he could say anything, a meeting had been scheduled and Taemin caught himself updating his resume and his portfolio to attach to an email to Mr. Donell.
Usually, he’d get something sweet to eat and some coffee too, but his pantry was almost empty due to the all-nighters he’d been pulling lately in order to finish his project and subsequently, Tae reminded himself that he needed to do the groceries. He couldn’t rely on Joon to do that for him all the time. His brother meant well, Tae knew that... but Joon often spoiled Taemin, and it should be the other way around.
He checked if his black denim pants and buttoned shirt were good enough before grabbing the essential things to take with him like his phone, wallet and keys and driving himself to Alpha Tech’s building, to chat with Mr.Donell. Once he arrived and announced himself to the people at the reception downstairs, where he got a visitor’s badge to enter the building and then he made his way. At the floor of Mr. Donell’s office, he repeated his actions of giving his name to the man’s secretary and waited until he was asked by the secretary to go inside the office.
Taemin cleared his throat before he stepped into the big office and it was like his confidence was back. He’d gotten this far, he couldn’t let this opportunity pass... especially since his professor had put so much faith on him already.
“Thanks for having me, Mr. Donell.” He said as he approached Rowan. “Professor Sanders spoke to you about me? Taemin Kim. Nice to meet you, sir.”
